In late January or early February 1997, I happened into a chat room I rarely visited and met someone who changed my life. It was a chance meeting, odds too high to calculate, yet there we were. We started talking, then laughing, and soon we exchanged mail addresses. When I logged off, I knew I had just met someone very special. As we continued to meet, to get to know each other, I found myself trying to be online when she was, to see her, to be with her.
