“Digiport open.”
“Hang on a minute. If we’re going to the frozen tundra shouldn’t we have clothes for the weather since the last time we were there we nearly froze our butts off!?”
Davis backed away from the computer terminal, and the port to the digital world closed a moment later. He turned to Yolei and said, “You’re absolutely correct. We should have warm winter clothes for just an occasion.”
“That can easily be arranged,” Alex said as a circle of stars formed above his head. The circle spanned his body, changing from his armor to a screaming red ski parka, black turtleneck, baggy blue jeans, and black combat style boots.
“Wow, talk about fast wardrobe changes,” Patamon said. A moment later a flame red muffler formed around his neck. “Stylish.”
“So your magic isn’t limited to the digital world,” Davis said, embarrassing himself once again.
“Davis...” Tai began to say, but Matt shook his head at him.
“Can you give us similar outfits to yours?” Ken asked.
“I can try,” Alex said, “but let me warn you that polymorph magic isn’t one of my specialties.”
“We believe in you,” Veemon said, “show us what you can do.”
Alex closed his eyes, grasped his talisman necklace in his left hand, and waved his right hand at the group. Circles of stars formed above their heads, slowly spanning down their bodies to end at their feet. When the group realized that the spell was over they were in awe.
“Impressive,” Matt said, “it’s incredibly warm and comfortable.”
“I packed an emergency bag for you,” Mrs. Izumi said, poking her head into the room, “Oh, you’re going to a cold part of the digital world?”
“That’s right,” Izzy said as he accepted the bag, “thanks mom. We’ll be back in time for dinner.”
“And if we’re not then please keep it warm for us,” Tai said.
“Next stop: the digital world,” Yolei said, “digiport open. Let’s go!”
The group held their digivices to the screen and a moment later a blinding light enveloped them, sucking them into the computer screen and off to the digital world.
Mrs. Izumi watched in awe from the doorway, clutching the edge of her apron. “Be careful, and good luck.”

In the digital world a tv screen glowed, belching forth the group of digidestined children and their digimon. The moment they realized the climate they were in and felt the biting cold of the wind chill they formed a tight knit group in hopes of keeping warm.
“I’m glad we have warmer outfits than usual,” Kari said as she shrugged tighter into her ski parka, “this wind is definitely from the north.”
“And every other direction at the same time,” Armadillomon said, “now where do we go?”
“According to the map and scanner we’re about a mile from what we’re searching for,” Tai said.
“I hope we don’t freeze before then,” Veemon said.
“Keep your mouth running and we’ll be nice and warm,” Gatomon said. The others sighed.
The group trudged on through the frozen landscape, stopping on occasions to take a break and warm up. As conditions worsened, though, they began to fear that coming on this day was a particularly bad idea.
“We should have waited for summer,” Davis said as he cleaned the snow from his goggles.
“I don’t think we could count on beach weather for here,” Yolei said, wiping her glasses clean, “that’s for sure.”
“I think my tail is turning into a popsicle,” Patamon said, icicles hanging from his ears, “I appear to be icing up in other places as well.”
“Well, according to the map we’re getting closer to our destination,” Kari said, “at least, I think we are.”
“I sure hope it’s not upside down,” Gatomon said as she broke an icicle off of one of her ears. She shivered for a moment before stepping behind Kari in order to get out of the frigid wind.
“Is it just me, or is the temperature dropping in tens of degrees,” Alex said as he brushed the snow from his own goggles.
“It’s not just you,” Izzy said in amazement, “the temperature just dropped by twenty degrees in a matter of seconds.”
“Everyone, circle behind us,” Star said as Alex’s digivice began to glow. The cat form of Star leapt into the air, rings of golden light spanning his body. The shape stretched and shifted, much in the manner of when Gatomon digivolved into Angewomon. From that came the human Star, once again clad in gleaming golden armor, this time with an extra thick cape wrapped around his shoulders.
The digidestined didn’t need to be told twice, since it was do as the spell caster wished or wind up being frozen. Alex formed a solar barrier around them to keep them warm and keep the wind out.
“Izzy, any idea of the reason behind the wild weather?” Alex asked.
“I’m working on it,” Izzy said as he booted up his laptop. Several command windows popped onto his screen as he began punching keys at a fast and furious pace. Yolei peeked over his shoulder, amazed at how calm her idol was in the face of danger.
“Prodigious,” Izzy said after a moment.
“Don’t leave us in suspense,” Tai and Davis said in unison.
“Yeah Izzy, is it good or bad?” Star asked as he began to cast his own Solar Barrier.
“It’s a little of both,” Izzy explained, “those new Chimeramon have the combination of arctic digimon and water digimon, right?” Several heads nodded. “Well, if all of them pooled their powers, then they could create one heck of a powerful blizzard.”
“Which we’re stuck in the middle of,” Matt said, “go figure.”
“You shouldn’t blame yourself,” Armadillomon said, “we all make mistakes, you know.”
“Well, let’s try to get ourselves out of this one,” Patamon said.
“I agree with Patamon,” TK said, “let’s show these Chimeramon what the digidestined are made of.”
Davis began to say something, only to notice Ken shaking his head.
“So what’s the first order of business?” Yolei asked, “We’re sort of between a rock and a hard place.”
“How about a barrier and a really cold place?” Cody suggested as an alternative for what Yolei was trying to say.
“What we need is some sort of heat wave or fire wave technique,” Ken said as he slowly turned a full circle, “that way we could take care of this storm on all sides.”
“I have a tech called Solar Flare,” Alex volunteered, “and another one called Giga Flare...”
“Which we saw in the battle with the first group of Chimeramon,” Matt said, “but don’t you need a weapon of some sort to be able to use it?”
“Just make a decision,” Tai said, pointing to the top of the dome, “because any moment we’ll be covered over and will require a steam shovel to dig our way out.”
“If you put it that way,” Alex said as a flame orange aura formed around his body. He held his hands so that his palms were facing, a globe of flame forming. He hurled this forward as he shouted, “Solar Flare!”
The tech struck the barrier, channeling through it before exploding into an expanding wave of flames that tore through the blizzard, beating it back to within a few hundred yards of the sources.
“I think it’s working,” Alex said as some sunlight streamed into the barrier through the break that formed in the clouds above them.
“We should get moving before the Chimeramon realize that their plan isn’t working,” Ken said.
“But where do we begin?” Yolei asked, “For all we know there’s a large circle around us, waiting for us to break through the blizzard to ice us.
“For all we know Arukenimon is behind this,” Tai suggested.
     “That twisted witch?!" Davis exclaimed.
“It would be her style to create a bunch of arctic type Chimeramon,” Yolei said.
“And how do you know that?!”
     “Call it woman’s intuition.”
The smell of burning suede filled the air, and the group turned to see Alex with his hands buried in the snow beneath them, water bubbling up around them. He was also muttering oaths and curses in English, Spanish, and high elven.
“What the heck happened?” Star asked as Alex lifted his hands to his guardian. The cat person sighed, a sweat drop forming on his head. “You overdid it, didn’t you?” Alex nodded, the snow around him beginning to steam and melt.
     “Overheated?” Armadillomon asked.
“Beyond overheated,” Star replied, “but he may be our best chance of a space heater.”
“How do you figure that?” Matt asked.
“If you hadn’t noticed, the temperature around him is rising rapidly. Unless he hits cold air he’ll burst into flames.”
“So his suffering is our best comfort?” Davis asked.
“To a degree, yes. We send him ahead of us as a heat source.”
Alex began to grumble about how inhumanely he was being treated, but Yolei turned on the charm.
“Please go on ahead of us,” she said, smiling sweetly, “it’s for all of our goods if you think about it. You get to cool off and we get to warm up.”
Alex sighed deeply. “Oh, all right,” he said as he began to walk towards the wall of the dome. “Just make sure you’re ready when the dome drops.”
“Ready,” Izzy said as he secured his laptop.
“Ready,” the digimon said, securing their winter gear.
“Ready,” the digidestined said, securing their own winter gear.
The dome collapsed from the top down, the frigid winds striking them almost instantly. Alex stepped into the blizzard, the excess heat from his body vaporizing the snow around him instantly. For a radius of 15 feet the digidestined found themselves in a relatively warm and dry environment that moved at a steady pace. After a short distance the radius shrank to 14 feet, then 11 feet, then 8 feet.
“I think we’re running out of dry space,” Matt said after a couple more minutes passed.
“According to my calculations we have about one hundred fifty feet until we pass the sources of the blizzard,” Izzy said.
“And we’ll be out of warm environment in less than that,” Star said as his shoulder was suddenly out in the cold.
“Radius of heat wave is now down to four and one half feet,” Alex said, “we need to get moving fast or else we’ll be left in the cold.”
“Too late for that,” Veemon said, “we’re left out in the cold.”
“My whiskers are about to freeze off,” Gatomon said.
“So now we’re going to freeze?!” Davis said, “This bites!”
“I have one last trick up my sleeve,” Star said, energy glowing in his hands moments before the blizzard encompassed them.

Outside of the range of the blizzard stood a woman clad in maroon and ruby colored clothing. Her glasses were like those worn by grandmothers, and her sliver hair blew about her face in the wind.
“Well, well, well,” she said, running he fingers through her hair, “the digidestined brats are now frozen in a blizzard. I have finally defeated them. I, Arukenimon, am the most powerful digimon in the digital world!”
As she burst into maniacal laughter her fingers wrapped around a knot in her hair. She ceased laughing and plucked the offending hairs from her head, sighing when she realized the problem.
“Oh brother, yet another split hair.”
“Split hairs aren’t going to be the only thing you’ll have to contend with,” a voice said. Arukenimon turned around, searching for the source of the voice. Standing atop one of the control spires stood seven forms, one with a billowing cape, all hidden in shadow. The background music switched to an upbeat tune as light illuminated the lowest form.
“You’re not going to get away with the creation of these Chimeramon, you ugly hag,” Yolei said as she was illuminated, her outfit now a sailor fuku of purple and white.
“You complain of split ends, and yet you tear them out and turn them into weapons of destruction,” TK said as he was illuminated. He was blushing hotly, since he was also clad in a sailor fuku, minus the embarrassment of a frilly skirt and the girly colors, since it was blue..
“We’re tired of being kicked around by your minions, and now we’re going to turn the tables,” Kari said as she was illuminated, her outfit a sailor fuku of pink and white.
“If you want an end to your frizzes and splits, consider us your hair dressers,” Davis said as he was illuminated. He was also blushing hotly, since he was wearing a sailor fuku similar to TK’s, with flaming red instead of blue, and a tight pair of shorts instead of a skirt.
“We shall condition your hair and the rest of your body.... in the ways of pain,” Ken said as he was illuminated. He seemed confused as to what to think, since his sailor fuku was gray and navy blue.
“We are the digi destined,” Alex said as he and Cody were illuminated. Cody had foregone the thought of dressing in a sailor fuku, and Alex was wearing his conventional armor with his cape billowing out behind him. Alex continued his introduction. “We fight to protect the digital world against evil. On behalf of digimon everywhere we shall punish you.”
Everyone standing atop the control spire struck a stance as he spoke the last line, everyone pointing towards Arukenimon.
“This is embarrassing,” Davis said, “I can’t believe I’m wearing a fuku, and it’s not even Halloween.”
“I happen to like this style,” Yolei said, “it’s opened up a new world of fashion opportunities.”
“Alex, I know you said you’d give us incredible powers with these transformations, but what’s with the skirts?” TK asked, since he had received a tight wrapping mini skirt instead of a pair of shorts.
“It’s part of the rules for the magical boys guild,” Alex explained, “at the beginning level you wind up with a fuku, but as you go up in rank you get cooler stuff.”
“Which is probably how you wound up with full plate mail armor,” Ken said.
“Well, yeah. I’m at the top of the charts so I get the really snazzy armor.”
“So tell me again why we wound up in these stupid outfits again?” Davis said, lost in a fog as usual. Everyone else sighed.
“You wanted powers beyond those of mortals. Star gave you the power ups and the henshin phrases. You shouted them and underwent transformations beyond your wildest imaginings, and since you’re rookies (and since Star really goofed this time) you all wound up in these embarrassing outfits.”
“Are you going to stop screwing around and punish her, or are you going to talk about fashion all day?” Gatomon shouted from the ground.
“We’ll punish her,” Kari said as she leapt down from the spire, “Or my name’s not Sailor Hikaru.”
“And I’m Sailor Takeru,” TK said as he landed next to Kari.
“Sailor Kenichi,” Ken added as he landed with the others.
“Sailor Daisuke,” Davis said, trying to hide behind the other three.
“Sailor Miyako,” Yolei said as she joined the other four by landing in the front of the ranks.
“Warrior Saturn,” Alex said as he and Cody leapt from atop the spire.
“Very amusing,” Arukenimon said, “but your fashion needs some adjustment.”
“Oh, just give up so we can change out of these embarrassing outfits,” Davis grumbled as he formed a fireball, “Daisuke Mustard Bomber!”
Everyone arched an eyebrow as Davis hurled the fireball at Arukenimon. They were more surprised when the single fireball split into multiple ones, all striking the evil digimon and knocking her to the ground.
“I’m impressed,” Veemon said, “Davis learned his attack right away.”
“But she’s not done yet,” Armadillomon pointed out, “he just made her angry.”
“Should we try to stop her?” Hawkmon asked.
“I think we should see what the digidestined have in store,” Wormmon suggested, “after all, they now have these super powers.”
“But can they really defeat her?” Gatomon asked.
“If they can’t defeat her they’ll at least put an end to her evil plans here,” Star said, “so let’s just sit back and watch, and if they get into trouble we’ll jump in and give an assist.”
The digidestined surrounded Arukenimon, cutting off all her lines of escape, or so they thought. The evil digimon plucked several hairs from her head, each one standing straight on end. She flung her hands outward and shouted, “Spirit Needle!”
“She’s trying to create something from the control spires in the area,” Patamon shouted.
“No she won’t,” Yolei said, “Aurora Barrier!”
Shields of colorful light intercepted the spirit needles, stopping them dead in their tracks. Arukenimon turned towards Yolei, giving her a hateful gaze. Yolei returned the gaze, and a stare down ensued. After a few moments Arukenimon said, “Where are the other three who were with your group?”
“A plot hole ate them,” Kari said, “or something worse.”
“You’re absolutely correct,” a disembodied voice as a doorway appeared to the side of the battlefield. The door swung open and from it stepped a young man who bore an uncanny resemblance to Alex, except his hair was unbraided and his bangs and the end of his ponytail were dyed purple. He wore baggy black cargo pants, black combat style boots, a black turtleneck, and a colorful bowling style shirt.
“Who the heck are you?” Arukenimon asked as the young man looked around. When she got no response she said, “Hello. Excuse me. Hey, are you listening to me?!”
“This will never do,” the young man said, ignoring the evil digimon as he glanced around at the digidestined. “Boy, somebody really screwed up this time.”
“So we weren’t meant to wind up in these embarrassing outfits?” Davis and TK asked.
“Not that I’m aware of. Even Alex’s first sailor uniform didn’t require him to wear a sailor fuku.”
Davis, TK, and Ken all turned to glare at Alex, who had a large sweat drop form on his head.
“So who are you?” Yolei asked, “You look a bit like Alex, and yet you’re different.”
The young man struck a dramatic stance before saying, “I am called the Lord of Chaos...”
“I always thought L-sama was a golden haired woman,” Alex said. A large sweat drop formed on the young man’s head.
“O.K.... Lord of Chaos is taken. Then call me Will, the master of chaos and confusion,” the young man said, striking another dramatic stance. “Tai, Matt, and Izzy have been eaten by a plot hole and we need some way to get them out.”
“So what about her?” Cody asked, pointing to Arukenimon, “She’s pretty dangerous.”
“True, but an unresolved plot hole is worse,” Yolei said, “it can grow to immense proportions and suck in the entire cast and crew and wreck havoc on the fabric of the universe.”
“That sounds more dangerous than our enemy here,” Ken said, referring to Arukenimon.
“Trust me, it is,” Will said as he pulled a laptop from subspace. He booted it up, several windows opening as the operating system activated. He typed a few things before saying, “Well, I’ll be. This is a kick in the teeth if I ever saw one.”
“What’s wrong?” Davis asked, “Is your computer out of power?”
“Nothing like that. I just can’t seem to undo the whole fuku thing. Incidentally,” Will added, turning to Alex, “you’re not a member of the Magical Boys guild, so how would you know what rookies are meant to wear? When you started out you wore cargo pants, combat boots, a vest, a cape, bracers, and a circlet, not a sailor fuku or those embarrassing dominatrix things the Sailor Starlights wore.”
Alex blushed before saying, “It was the best excuse I could come up with to explain our current situation.”
“So what do we do now?” Davis asked, “my legs feel like they’re about to freeze, as do other parts of my body!”
“Well, for starters we could defeat the Chimeramon that are advancing upon our position from all sides,” Yolei said.
The others quickly turned their attention to the objects of their original mission - the arctic type Chimeramon, which were now advancing upon their position at a fairly steady pace.
“How could we forget those pains in the butt?!” Alex sighed as he activated a Levitation spell, a circle of wind forming around him for a moment before he began to lift into the air. Once he was airborne he spread his arms to the side and craned his neck to the sky before beginning the incantation for his spell.
“Let the wind blow like there’s no tomorrow. Let the waters of the world surge and swell. Let the lightning split the sky and crumble the earth. By my powers to control the elements let all who oppose me be destroyed. Goddess’ of the sea and skies, unite your powers now. Maelstrom!!”
The wind in the area began to pick up, eventually increasing to gale force in a large circular fashion that surrounded the Chimeramon. Water surged up inside of the circle, washing over those inside of the spell radius, some being lashed up by the wind and flash frozen before striking the targets. Finally the clouds split, a massive bolt of chained lightning tearing through the sky to add to the destruction down below. The winds died away, the waters surging inward before washing outward, the ground beneath breaking apart as bolts of lightning struck the target area. An explosion ensued which wiped the Chimeramon from the face of the map, much to the shock and horror of Arukenimon.
“That was quite impressive,” she said, “but as they say, those who do evil and run away live to do evil another day.” And upon saying that she vanished into a cloud of silver smoke.
“Wow,” Will said, staring in awe, “that was one impressive spell. Was that tri elemental in nature?”
“That’s what everyone says,” Alex replied, “though I think it’s Zodiac in nature, since the destructive power is immense.”
“I hate to butt into your conversation,” Gatomon said, “but what about finding Tai and the others?”
“Right. Plot hole resolution,” Will said, opening his laptop again. His fingers danced over the keys for a couple of minutes before a portal opened above them. From that fell Matt, Izzy, and Tai, all clad in sailor fukus like those the others wore.
“What in the world?” Izzy asked, rubbing his head. When he realized what he was wearing he turned bright read before pulling the skirt tight around his legs. “This is really embarrassing.”
“No kidding,” Matt said, “what in the world happened to us, and why are we wearing these outfits?”
“Well, if it isn’t Sailor Yamato and Sailor Koushiro,” Tai said, snickering, “boy, I sure wish I had a camera.”
Two flashes of light filled the air as Kari and Will took pictures of the groups. They looked at each other, chuckled, and took pictures of each other.
“These will look wonderful on my web site,” Will said as a doorway formed behind him.
“Aren’t you going to resolve the issue of these outfits before you go?” Ken asked.
“Oh yeah... now that the battle’s over you should be able to transform back,” Star said. Several people glared at him. He sighed and said, “That’s the way these transformations generally work.”
“Well that’s a relief,” Davis said as his transformation disintegrated into flame red ribbons, which retracted back into the transformation pen he held in his right hand. He looked at the pen before saying, “Will we wind up in fukus if us guys transform again?”
“Nope,” Will said before closing his laptop, “you’ll wind up in light armor when you transform next time.”
And with that the master of chaos and confusion stepped through the doorway, which closed behind him and vanished in a cloud of smoke. The others stood around, blinking in disbelief for quite some time after he had disappeared. Finally Matt said, “Just who the heck was that guy?!”
     “Pleading ignorance,” Alex replied.
“Pleading the fifth,” was Star’s answer.
“Pleading temporary insanity,” Yolei and Kari said in unison, giggling.
“If he was able to fix a plot hole and bring you guys back he must possess incredible powers,” Izzy said, “though I wish I knew more.”
“I just want to finish that picnic we were on before this whole incident began,” Veemon said. The other digimon sighed.
“Yes, let’s go back to the real world, then teleport back to our picnic spot,” Yolei suggested.
“That sounds like a wonderful idea,” Alex said, “and maybe Izzy’s mom will have something delicious for us to eat.”
Izzy let out a startled, “Eeep.” before running for the nearest tv. As he ran he exclaimed, “Oh my stars, it’s dinner time!”
“Dinner!” everyone else exclaimed as they ran after him, cries of, “Food! Food! Food! Food! Food!” echoing across the land.

In a pocket of subspace a doorway appeared and swung open, from that stepping the Master of Chaos and Confusion. The doorway closed behind him and vanished, and he took a seat in a nearby desk chair.
“What a day,” he sighed as he turned on his tv, “I wonder what’s on at this hour.”
As he flipped through the channels he realized that every station had news about sailor suited defenders of justice. His jaw dropped when he realized that that they weren’t talking about Sailor Moon, but about Sailor Daisuke and his own sailor soldiers.
“Oh man,” he muttered, holding his hand to his face, “this cannot be happening!”
He turned his tv off, booted up his laptop, and returned to working as subspace and strange things swirled around his office, all the while muttering about fixing plot holes and the time space continuum.

The End.
