Rebirth of the Dark Angel
Part 2

“Lina Inverse here. In the last episode we had a lot of citrissy scenes of men and women only wearing towels, energy draining curtain people, and more weirdness than can be imagined. We found out the plot to resurrect Sephiroth, the dark angel, the bringer of the end of the world. Whose fault was this? None other than Black X’s himself. With some help from Xellos and the two curtain people we teleported to Black X’s home base and kicked the crap out of him. Unfortunately Sephiroth was resurrected and now we have to destroy him before he kills Aeris and wipes out the ancients.”
Alex: “And without further adieu we bring you Part 2 of the Rebirth of the Dark Angel.”

<music: Sailor Stars OP>

“Sephiroth... he’s back,” Tony said in shock as he looked at Sephiroth, the dark angel’s hair flowing out like it was being blown by wind.
“And he’s at full power,” Lina added, “we’re in for one hell of a battle.”
“So you’re Lina Inverse,” Sephiroth said, turning his attention from Aeris and Celia, “it will be a great pleasure to kill you.”
“I take it you’re a dark lord with some sort of insane power level,” Lina said nonchalantly, running her fingers through her hair.
     “So you’ve heard about me?”
     “More than I’d like to.”
“Miss Lina, are you toying with him?” Sylphiel asked. She caught the glint in Lina’s eye and backed up, muttering under her breath, “She’s crazy.”
Sephiroth continued to walk towards Lina, stopping a few steps away to take note of the movement of her lips. He raised an eyebrow and said, “That tired old spell?”
“With a new twist,” Lina said, a globe of crimson forming between her palms, “Dragon... SLAVE!”
The beam fired from Lina’s hands, aimed for Sephiroth’s chest. Seph moved his arm into the path of the beam and swung, diverting it off in another direction. Lina’s jaw dropped when she saw one of her more powerful spells sent sailing off like it was a pesky fly.
“Was that all you had?” Seph asked, “That was too easy to deflect.”
“We’re in trouble, aren’t we?” Roxy asked Jason, who nodded. “Thought so.”
“So what do we do now?” Amelia asked, hiding behind Zelgadis.
“We can’t run away because if we do he’ll destroy the planet. If we fight him and lose it’ll be the same thing. If we fight him and win then we’ll be able to say we kicked his ass,” Celia said, counting the possible outcomes off on her fingers.
A wave of dark energy tore through the area, changing the appearance of the room drastically by destroying the ceiling, the walls, and the floor. What they found themselves standing upon was air, yet none of them had cast a Levitation spell.
“What in the nine hells?!” Alex exclaimed, “I feel like I'm not in charge of my own body any more.”
“Very observant of you young warrior,” Sephiroth said as he floated up to them, “with my powers restored I can control whatever you do.”
“Ooooooh, kiss off,” Alyssa grumbled as she and Alison began a tornado spin, “Final Twister!”
A tornado of black feathers erupted from around the twin guardians, blackness screaming towards the dark angel. Sephiroth braced his left hand before his body, absorbing the brunt of the blow before deflecting the attack off to one side. Alyssa and Alison ceased their spin moments before force waves slammed into them, sending them plunging to the ground below.
“.... Unite with my body, unite with my power, and let us walk the path to destruction together. Power to smash even the souls of the gods. Ragna BLADE!”
A large sword of blackness formed in Lina’s hands as she dove at Sephiroth, a battle cry issuing from her throat. Seph had his Masamune sword drawn in a lightning movement, deflecting Lina’s spell strike with little effort what so ever. Lina leaned into her swing, gritting her teeth with the strain.
“Die... you bastard,” she grumbled, “die!”
“Maybe you should die, Miss Inverse,” Seph said, smiling coldly at her, “you have great strength, but mine is stronger.”
     “Dynast Bras!”
     “Holy Lance!”
A pentagram of lightning and several lances of holy light struck Seph, distracting him for a brief moment. One of the lances impaled him in the right shoulder, and a moment later he found himself disarmed with a Ragna Blade at his throat.
“Prepare to meet your end, angel of darkness,” Lina said.
Sephiroth closed his eyes, still smiling coldly, and wagged his finger at her, much in the same manner as a certain purple haired Mazoku priest. He spoke two words, or perhaps it was one. “Super nova.”
“Super nova?” Lina fumed, “Super nova?! What the hell does that mean?!”
The sky above them darkened suddenly and a computer screen formed in their presence. It showed Pluto moments before a comet smashed through it. Warrior Pluto’s transformation suddenly reversed, leaving him clinging to a mass of garnet ribbons. Uranus met the same fat a moment later. The comet passed by Saturn peeling several layers of the rings away. Warrior Saturn dropped to his knees, clutching his wrists as pain wracked through his body. The planet Jupiter experienced the comet driving right through its center, and a moment later the planet exploded.
“It’s getting closer by the minute,” Sephiroth said, “so if any of you can cast barriers I would suggest forming them soon.”
On the screen the comet got closer and closer to the earth, and above them they could see it screaming at them. The clouds that swirled in the sky melted away as the comet approached.
“We’re going to get our asses handed to us in a minute!” Celia said as she formed a barrier, or tried to, since Sephiroth’s power canceled out her white magic.
“You have five seconds,” Sephiroth said, smiling coldly as an energy bubble formed around him, “four... three....”
“Giga Crisis!” Alex shouted, a ghostly white aura forming around his body. He braced his right hand with his left, the glow centering around his fist. The glow exploded into a wave of energy that expanded before his body, the wave catching the comet to propel it back into space.
“That is some incredible power,” Lina said. She took a moment to drink an ether before firing off a Dragon Slave, which joined with Alex’s attack to drive the comet away.
“We’re going to be turned into barbecue if that thing hits,” Zelgadis said as he fired up a barrier spell of his own.
“Mister Zelgadis, couldn’t Mister Xellos help us in this matter?” Amelia asked as she added her barrier spell to Zel’s.
“Are you crazy?!” Zel, Adderson, and Tony said in unison, “What would you want with that fruitcake?!”
“Somebody called for me?” Xellos said as he winked in with his arms wrapped around Zelgadis’ shoulders.
“Get the fruit away from me,” Zelgadis said as he turned a shade of deep blue.
“Why Zelgadis, I didn’t know you cared.”
“Xellos, if you’re going to help us, now would be a good time,” Lina grumbled as sweat began to pur down her face, “Even with an ether I’m still not at full power. My strength is going to give out at any time.”
“Mister Xellos, Miss Lina and Mister Alex could use a hand in stopping this attack from that evil man,” Amelia said, pointing to Seph.
“Don’t you know it’s not polite to point?” Seph said. A sweat drop formed on Amelia’s head.
Xellos winked out, appearing in front of Alex’s and Lina’s attacks. The Dragon Slave and Giga Crisis struck the Mazoku priest, super charging him with power. Xellos fired off an energy blast like no other, for it was a combination of the two attacks.... a Dragon Crisis.
“What incredible power,” Xellos said as the energy threatened to tear him apart, “I’ve never felt a force like this flow through me before. I must remember this for future reference.”
“Is it affecting Meteor at all?” Alex asked as he dropped to one knee due to the strain of maintaining his attack.
“Very little, if any,” Zelgadis said, peering through a set of binoculars, “Sephiroth seems to be in control here.”
“Then let’s give him a little less control,” Tod said as he began to lash his whip around, “Comet Strike!”
The stars at the end of his whip glowed, globes of burning white flame forming around them. These smaller globes formed one larger globe, which sailed towards Sephiroth when the whip was cracked. The comet split back into multiple globes, which were quickly extinguished with a wave of Seph’s hand.
     “Rah Tilt!”
     “Elmekia Lance!”
     “Gravity Cutter!”
     “Orion Star Sword Slash!”
Blue white flames erupted around Sephiroth before several lances of astral energy pierced it. Blades of gravity energy cut through the flames before a beam of energy slashed into it. An explosion resulted, and gave all the appearance of having defeated the dark angel.
“Did we get him?” Amelia asked.
From the smoke stepped Sephiroth, his eyes glowing ice blue as the smoke cleared around him.
“I don’t believe this,” Zelgadis said in shock, “How could someone withstand an attack like that?”
“Give me the ancient one and I may let you live out the remainder of your lives,” Sephiroth said, referring to Aeris.
“If you think we’re going to do something like that then you’ve got another thing coming,” Celia said as she lunged at the dark angel, an energy sword forming in her hand. As she neared Seph the blade burst into flames, and she began to slash wildly.
Sephiroth ducked and dodged every attack and advance that the vampyress used when fighting him. Eventually Celia left herself wide open to attack, and Seph used that moment to his advantage. Celia didn’t have much time to react before Seph’s knee collided with her stomach. Celia sailed backwards, tilting her head back in time to see Seph appear above her, his elbow smashing into her chest, sending her plummeting to the ground.
     “Celia!” Zelgadis cried.
“Miss Celia!” Amelia and Sylphiel cried.
“Celia!” Alex and Lina said in unison.
“Xellos, do you still need our power for the Dragon Crisis?” Lina shouted to the somewhat crisp mazoku priest.
“I can handle the attack myself,” Xellos replied through gritted teeth, “You two go and help Celia.”
“Thanks,” Alex said as he broke off attack. He reached into his pocket and pulled out his piece of materia, which glowed before he held it to the sky. “Dragon of darkness who sleeps in the inferno, come forth and burn my enemy to ashes. Ridley!”
A swirling circle of flame formed in the sky, a large globe of flames breaking through. The globe split, a large dragon type creature unfolding forth from the flames. The dragon released a blood curdling shriek before belching forth a super heated ray of fire. The ray struck Sephiroth before exploding into a dome of flames. Once the attack ended the dragon vanished in a flash of light and flames.
“An esper, summoned forth by someone like you?” Sephiroth said as he stepped from the fire, “How interesting.”
“Oh, just put a cork in it,” Lina grumbled as she plucked the gem from the collar of her tunic. She held it to the sky and shouted, “Spirits of lightning and of thunder, come and send our enemy asunder. Crusader!!”
The sky went dark, lightning flashing across the sky as three figures appeared on different parts of the battlefield, all equipped in odd manners. The three charged across the battle field at Sephiroth, striking him with three weapons in unison. In their wake a shockwave struck the people on the ground, wounding some, weakening others. Lina and Alex found themselves in the strongest part of the shockwave, both being smashed into the ground. With the attack over the three figures melted away into the shadows, the clouds dissipating to reveal Xellos still battling the meteor.
“What the hell was that?!” Sephiroth demanded as he rose from the knee he was dropped to, “Was that an esper or a monster?!”
“Lina?” Gourry asked as he lifted the sorceress from the ground, “Lina, speak to me. Say something.”
“Jellyfish brain,” Lina mumbled, coughing as she opened her eyes.
“Can we hurry up and kill him off?” Derek asked, “I’m getting tired of being powerless.”
“Give me the Ancient one,” Sephiroth said, repeating his demand. He added, “Either give her to me or all of you will die!”
“Darkness beyond twilight, crimson beyond blood that flows,” Lina chanted, beginning the motions for her spell. Gourry set her down so that she wouldn’t wind up hitting him with the beam if she aimed wrong. “Buried in the stream of time. In thy great name let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I possess. Dragon... SLAVE!”
Lina’s spell struck Sephiroth in the back, pushing him a few feet from where he stood. He whipped around, hate flashing in his eyes as he deflected the energy beam off into space.
“That actually stung,” Seph growled, “keep trying and you might actually hurt me.”
“Laguna BLADE!” Tony cried as he lunged at Sephiroth, the black blade of the Lord of Nightmares forming in his hands. He slashed at the dark angel, his shots being deflected by an energy barrier. Tony took one last swipe, striking Seph’s outstretched right arm and severing it at the wrist.
“You bastard! DIE!” Seph screamed, a force wave catching Tony in the chest, propelling him through the air and into a wall, crushing him into it.
“Mister Tony!” Sylphiel said in shock. She turned towards Sephiroth, a grim look on her face as she took a piece of red materia from her cape. She held it to the sky and shouted, “Holy warrior of light, come forth and fight back the darkness. Angemon!”
Angel feathers swirled through the air, a cyclone forming from them. From the cyclone six angel wings unfolded, the cyclone vanishing to reveal an angel with a large staff. The angel charged holy energy into its staff before swinging at Sephiroth, a beam firing from it. The beam struck Seph, piercing his body in multiple places with holy energy. The angel vanished a moment later, leaving Seph to drop to his knees, smoke issuing from several places.
“Give up your evil ways and we may go easy on you,” Amelia said, striking a dramatic pose for one of her justice speeches.
“You are all fools,” Sephiroth said as he struggled to his feet, his eyes glowing ice blue. The meteor that hovered above them shattered into many other, smaller meteors that rained down upon them, many striking Xellos and tearing apart his astral body.
“You may think we’re fools, but we’re just trying to save our world,” Alex said as he dragged himself from the crater where he had been laying for the past few minutes. “From the silent star, Saturn, a warrior sent to protect the light. I’m the silent angel, the warrior of death and rebirth, the soldier of darkness and destruction, Warrior Saturn, and you’re headed for a fall!”
He held his hand above his head, a glow forming in his palm. The glow extended, his Silence Glaive forming from it. He spun the deadly blade about before training the blade upon Sephiroth. Dark energy crackled around the blade, forming a globe around it. He leapt into the air before swinging down and shouting, “Giga Flare!”
A dark thunderbolt leapt from the end of the glaive, splitting into several smaller bolts that struck around Sephiroth before exploding into a large dome of dark flames and heat. When the smoke died away Seph was still standing, but looked a little weaker.
“Damn,” Alex muttered as he landed near Lina, Zelgadis, and Gourry, “Lina, hit him with a Giga Slave.”
“What?!” Lina exclaimed, “Are you kidding? He might absorb it and grow stronger!”
“Xellos is in no shape to fight,” Alex said, holding up a hand to count off points, “most of us were weakened by the Super nova attack, and we’ve already called our espers so they won’t be available for a little while. Also, note that our attacks are beginning to have some sort of effect upon him, so we can win.”
“So now what do we do?” Sylphiel asked as she and Amelia deflected a large energy blast from Sephiroth.
“According to my calculations the planets destroyed by the Super nova technique have reformed,” Jack said, looking up from a pocket sized computer, “which means you’ll be at full strength and Derek can transform again.”
“Excellent,” Celia said, “let’s take him outta here!”
Derek held his transformation pen aloft and shouted, “Pluto Super Nova Power.... Transform!”
Garnet red light filled the area and swirled around his body, forming the black under suit of his outfit, his well constructed chest and shoulder armor, the utility belt and hip armor, his bracers and the jewels of power within them, his well made boots, and the cape of black with garnet red lining that billowed out about him. In his hand formed his staff, the garnet orb glowing lightly.
“Brought forth from the time space star, Pluto, a warrior to protect all time. I am the temporal guardian, Warrior Pluto.”
“I don’t care who you are,” Sephiroth said, the katana blade reappearing in his hand, “just DIE!”
He lunged into the midst of the group, slashing wildly. Several of the brave heroes fell in this onslaught. Seph then saw that only Celia, Andrew, and Tony were protecting Aeris, who was desperately trying to unlock her limit break. He lunged forward again, easily blowing by Celia. Andrew and Tony blocked his path, and these two quickly fell by Sephiroth’s mighty blade. With Aeris unprotected he licked his lips evilly before diving forward with his sword before him.
In the last seconds before Sephiroth would have struck, Celia teleported up beside Aeris and bumped her out of the way. Aeris watched in shock as Celia was impaled by Sephiroth’s mighty Masamune sword, the hilt guard striking against her breastplate with a sound that echoed. Celia released a gasp, her eyes rolling back in her head as she fell limply back. Sephiroth drew his sword from her body, muttering oaths about killing the wrong girl as he retrieved his weapon.
“C... C... Celia?!” Aeris gasped in shock.
“Avenge... me... Aeris,” Celia said weakly as cherry blossoms and petals began to blow through the air.
“Celia!!” Aeris cried, a great power growing inside of her, her cry echoing across the battlefield.
On the far side of the battlefield Zelgadis and Alex both perked their ears up when they heard Aeris’ scream. Lina also heard the scream before borrowing Gourry’s sword of light. In a flash Alex teleported them across the battlefield near to where Aeris was standing.
“You killed my friend, and for that I cannot forgive you,” Aeris said, a piece of red materia forming in her hand. She held this aloft and cried, “Guardian bird of death and rebirth, come forth and lend us your assistance in our hour of need. PHOENIX!”
A halo of flames formed above the battlefield, and from that the mighty phoenix emerged, floating above the land. The mighty bird arched its neck upward and released a cry that pierced the heavens. Feathers of the Phoenix sailed through the air, striking Sephiroth and exploding in a wave of fire. The most amazing thing, though, was that the people that the feathers touched were instantly revived. The Phoenix vanished a moment later in a flash of flames.
     “Holy...” Alex said in disbelief.
     “Moly,” Zelgadis finished.
“Yet another reason for me to kill you,” Sephiroth gasped as he regained his feet, his sword blade touching the ground.
“I don’t think so,” Lina said as she held the sword of light with the blade resting in one hand. Dark energy began to swirl around the blade as her talismans glowed due to a mentally cast Boost spell. She then began the incantation.
“Darkness beyond blackest pitch, deeper than the deepest night. One shining golden lord floating endlessly upon a sea of chaos. I call upon thee and swear myself to thee. Let the fools who stand before me be destroyed by the power you and I possess! Sword, accept this darkness... and obey my command!”
The sky turned black as night, lightning crackling through the air as Lina began casting the spell. Sephiroth made a move to lunge at the spell caster, only to find his blade caught in the end of Alex’s glaive. He muttered a curse and began to charge a spell, only to see Zelgadis draw a piece of red materia from his cloak and hold it aloft.
“Holy beast of protection, you who protects all life, come before us and deliver us! MADEEN!”
A winged cat like creature appeared and formed a globe of holy power around Sephiroth, the globe shrinking inward before exploding to drop Seph to the ground. Sephiroth struggled to stand up, his jacket disintegrating to leave him bare chested.
“Sephiroth, angel of darkness, prepare to meet thy doom,” Lina said as Alex and Zelgadis began casting their own Giga Slaves.
“You’re the one to die,” Sephiroth said as he began to lunge at Lina again, only to be trapped in a star formation Flow Break from Tony, Andrew, Adderson, Aeris, Amelia, and Sylphiel.
“You’re headed for a fall you creep,” Alison and Alyssa shouted, “Final Twister!”
     “Temporal Maelstrom!”
     “Comet Strike!”
     “X Wave Cannon!”
     “Flare Slash!”
     “Scorpio Sting Laser!”
     “Gravity Crush!”
     “Galaxia Gun Fire!”
As the warrior and sailor attacks struck Sephiroth, Lina, Zelgadis, and Alex finished casting their spells, sending a triple Giga Slave at the dark angel. The spell struck Sephiroth, greatly breaking down his power. The flow break shattered, knocking the casters onto their asses. Sephiroth stumbled to his feet, his astral body broken, his living body also pretty broken. He turned towards Aeris, only to have a blade of light driven through his chest from behind. He turned his head to see Celia standing behind him, an evil look in her eyes.
     “You,” he said in shock.
“Me,” Celia replied, “and you have just sampled my Goddess Blade.”
She drew the sword from Seph’s body, which disintegrated into a rain of black angel feathers once the blade was removed. Once the last feather vanished the vampyress found herself being pounced upon by Aeris, who cried upon her shoulder for a moment.
“Aeris, what’s with the water works?” Celia asked.
“I thought you were dead,” Aeris cried.
“But I’m not,” Celia said as Alex and Zelgadis hugged her as well, “geeze, don’t you know a vampire can’t die unless certain conditions are met.”
“Well, we didn’t know,” Zelgadis said, “and Aeris summoned Phoenix in order to revive the fallen.”
“Which was the most amazing thin I’ve ever seen,” Alex said, “Aeris got really angry about your so-called demise and summoned materia to call upon an esper.”
“Girl, you have to teach me that Goddess Blade spell,” Aeris and Lina said in unison as the sorceress approached.
“Later,” Celia replied, “I’m still sore from that impaling, and I’m going to have a major bruise there and I just want to take a shape shifter free shower!”
“Let’s go home,” Zelgadis replied as the others joined them, “we’ve had enough fighting for one day.”
“So right you are,” Xellos said as he phased in behind Zelgadis and Tony, an arm draped across their shoulders. Both shuddered before impaling the Mazoku priest with holy lances and Elmekia lances. Lina grabbed him by one ear before growling at him. “Just take us home Xellos before I make your life really miserable by sending you to a really CUTE corner of hell!”
Xellos turned incredibly pale before saying, “O.K., O.K., you win. I’ll teleport you home.”
He snapped his fingers, a bubble forming around the group as a portal opened above them. The bubble floated upward, quickly passing the threshold and the event horizon of the portal. Once they were through the portal it sealed shut behind them, leaving a small cloud of astral dust to dissipate into the air.
From beneath a pile of debris rose a man with butt length black hair, creepy violet eyes, and a scar across his nose. He was clad in flowing black and violet robes, and wore a great mantle of silver across his shoulders.
“So, they defeated Sephiroth,” he said as he brushed some of his hair from his face by putting it behind the great circlet he wore about his head. “No matter,” he said, “I still have some minions somewhere out there who are still loyal to me.”
With that he cackled maniacally, for he was the real Black X, the one that was defeated being a mere copy of the wonderful original. As his laughter range out across the land a large piece of rock came loose from an overhang and fell, crushing him to the ground. “That hurt,” he muttered before swearing his revenge.
“I’ll get you Lina Inverse, and those pesky sailor saps as well!”

The End.
