It was early in the morning across the campus
of the university. Many people's communicators beeped at the same time,
waking people from a very restful slumber. In those rooms the lights clicked
on and the people answered the call.
"Alex here *yawn* what's the problem?" one
of the people asked, stretching the kinks out of his body.
"Guys, this is Ami. There is a large asteroid
heading towards your area."
"Can't it wait until morning?" Adderson Martin,
Alex's roommate, asked, pulling the covers around his body to hide his
state of undress.
"By then it may be too late and we can't get
to your position in time."
"What's the location for the proposed impact?"
Jack, Alex's and Adderson's neighbor, asked as quietly as possible as not
to wake his sleeping roommate.
"The field house should be your meeting place.
Ami out."
The Warriors and Senshi who lived at the university
all dressed and made their way to the meeting place. Though it was dark
they managed to get across the campus, and with a gentle breeze those with
long hair had their hair blown dramatically. Once they reached the field
house the group looked to the heavens to see a streak of light coming their
way. They looked to one another for strength, nodded, and took their power
items from their pockets and raised them to the sky, calling out their
power up phrases.
A matter of moments later they reappeared on
the asteroid. Alex once again consulted his visor and computer as to the
location of the insects. After scanning the area for a minute he said,
"Battle positions!"
"What's up?" Mike asked, drawing his saber.
"Yeah," Jordan added as he drew his twin swords,
"what's up?"
"You'll see in a matter of seconds," Alex
said, producing his glaive. As soon as the glaive materialized, a mass
of giant insects appeared.
"Holy sh*t!!" Adderson exclaimed, "Those things
are HUGE!"
"Oh baby!" Dennis said, "We're seriously screwed!"
"And these are just the ground troops," Alex
said as the data came to him, "We still haven't seen their air support,
their heavy artillery, or their backup."
"Well, what are we waiting for?!" Jason asked,
"Let's squash us some bugs!!"
Just then some music blasted through the air,
leaving the heroes puzzled. It took a couple seconds before Alex realized
what the melody was.
"It's the 'Chrono Trigger' final battle
music!" he exclaimed, a little shocked.
"Why do I get a bad feeling about this?" Josh
asked.
"I don't know," Alison said, "but those bugs
are starting to get too close for comfort!"
"Blazing Blade Boomerang!"
The flaming disc flew through the air, slicing
a bug in half on the first pass and a pair of bugs on the return pass.
The group who were surrounded by bugs looked up to see Warriors Hellfire,
Thunderbolt, Arctic Chill, Sun, and Nova. The five Warriors were floating
in mid air, all in dramatic poses, weapons drawn and ready for battle.
The other Warriors and Senshi were in a state of shock when they saw the
five newcomers.
"Hey," Rich said, grinning, "what would you
do without us?"
"Probably learn to think on our own," Mike
shouted back. Just then a flying insect began a dive bomb attack on Rich.
Rich turned around in time to see the bug closing in on his position, yet
without enough time to react.
"Moon Saber - Riot Blade!!"
The ring lasers struck the bug head on, blinding
it and throwing it off of its course and into a mountain side. Rich and
the other four landed among the others and Rich said to Mike, "Thanks for
the save."
"Hey, no problem," Mike replied, "We gotta
look out for one another."
"Why are you guys here anyway?" Adderson asked,
"I mean, we received the call and were the first here."
"We're the original Star Senshi," Matt said,
"It's part of the job."
"Yeah," Steve said, "We've been there since
Day 1 and we'll be there to the end!"
"And this may be the end if we don't hurry
up and destroy the bugs and the meteor," Rachel said, picturing the end
result if they were to fail.
"She's right," Dan said, "and this may take
some time."
"Ok, whatever," Dennis said, "Mortal Attack
- Blizzard Fist!"
Dennis raised his right hand into the air,
ice energy glowing around the fist. He then performed an arm roll into
a punch, which released the built up energy in a massive, icy wave, which
blasted some of the bugs into the surrounding mountains.
"X Beam Cannon!"
Jordan crossed his swords, the blades glowing
with energy. There was a spark at the crossing point, which was followed
by a blast of piercing energy needles. He turned his body so the attack
struck as many bugs as possible. Though many bugs fell with the first wave
of the attack, many more appeared to take the places of the fallen ones.
"Cryo Blast!"
Richard notched an arrow into his bow and
drew back the string. Ice energy collected around the arrow head, ultimately
forming a sphere. Rich then released the arrow, which soared through the
air and struck a bug in the torso, piercing the heavy armor and striking
what was inside. The ice energy dissipated into the surrounding flesh,
freezing the bug solid and shattering it.
"Halo Laser Slash!"
Rachel threw her chakram at one of the larger
insects. As it soared through the air she pointed her index finger at the
blade, a laser firing from it and wrapping around the boomerang, turning
it into a type of energy saw blade. The chakram slashed through one insect,
then four others, and another six on is return pass to Rachel's hand. She
caught her weapon and returned it to the catch on her belt.
"Where did that attack come from?" Alex asked
once the action ended.
"It sounded a little better than cut," Rachel
replied, "Besides, it works a hell of a lot better."
"Umm... did anyone else feel the ground shake
just now?" Tod asked. There was silence and a couple seconds later the
ground rumbled yet again. All around them the insect troops backed away
like they knew something, opening a large circle.
"Why do you suppose they did that?" Dennis
asked.
"I'm getting a bad feeling about this," Nate
said.
"Same here," Alex said as the ground began
to crack around them, "Once the next rumble occurs, we leap."
The next rumble was a doozy, for the head
of a giant bug broke through the ground. Fortunately the group braced and
used the energy of break through to spring board through the air. As they
soared to new heights, the big bug burped a fireball at the fleeing heroes
in hopes of roasting them.
"Rich, ice that suck!" Steve shouted as they
dodged the plume of flames.
"I'm on it," Rich said, a small ball of blue
flames forming in his left palm, "Cold Wildfire!"
Rich hurled the flames of ice fire at the
stream coming from the bug and a real fire fight began. The two met and
a battle battle of power ensued. As Rich fought for control, a massive
flying bug swooped down to attack him, but fortunately Jack and Jason were
on top of it.
"Comet Shot!"
"Star Missile!"
The flaming dagger and the crystal shard sliced
the bug into thirds, splattering Rich with green blood. To add irony and
insult to injury and to the situation, the central half of the bug dropped
down and plugged up the nozzle of the flame throwing bug. A couple seconds
later the big bug exploded, covering everyone in orange blood.
"Awww, damnit!" Tod whined when he looked
at his stained outfit, "This is dry clean only!"
"You don't have to worry about your hair,"
Alyssa whined, wringing the orange blood from her prized tresses, "It's
gonna take me forever to get this junk out and to condition my hair back
to normal."
"Can we worry about his later?!" Adderson
asked, the orange blood contrasting with the black of his armor and pants,
smears of orange blood on his face, "We still have more bugs to beat!"
"We gotta do this as a team," Alex said, powering
up the Chaos Emeralds in his gauntlets.
"Damn straight," Matt said, backing up to
the others, "What's the plan?"
"Rich, you and I create a fog bank, which
will cut down on the bug's visibility. Jordan, prepare to shield the others.
Everyone else, power up for attack, but hold off on releasing until the
bugs are confused, then give them everything you have."
"Right!" everyone else said.
Rich and Alex formed bubbles between their
palms before both shouting, "Double Shabon Spray!" The two streams of bubbles
burst forth, forming a pea - soup fog, which limited visibility to practically
nothing and confused the bugs. With the bugs wondering what was happening,
the Warriors and twin Senshi attacked.
"Plasma Wave Ignite!"
Steve took his twin swords from their sheathes
and crossed them until the blades began to glow a brilliant green - yellow,
then slashed the air with the swords and stopping the downward swipe when
the hilts lined up with a group of bugs. Energy swirled around the blades
before exploding forth in a seemingly endless wave of plasma. The energy
ignited upon impact, burning the bugs to a crisp.
The minute the Warriors and twin Senshi reappeared
they looked to the sky, just in time to see a brilliant flash of light,
followed by a massive meteor shower. They then waited for a flash of light
which would signal Alex's return to Earth. After five minutes they looked
at one another and bowed their heads for a moment of silence to remember
their brave leader and the great, yet ever so stupid, sacrifice he made
so the planet would live on. At that moment something fell from the tree
behind them and bounce off of Derek's head before clanging to the ground
at their feet. Alison bent down and picked the item up.
"It's Alex's ring," she said, holding it up,
"he must still be alive!"
"Hello down there!" came from the branches
in the tree behind them. Dan created an orb of light, which he sent floating
up into the tree. A minute later they could see Alex slumped over one of
the topmost branches, a stupid - ass smile on his face.
"Can you help me down from here?" he asked,
"I'm kinda... stuck."
"I'll get you down," Matt said, spinning his
axe around, a wry grin on his face.
"Um... no... DON'T!!" Alex began to whine,
but it was too late. Matt had released the blade boomerang, which hacked
through the branch Alex was suspended on. Upon the return to Matt's hand
the branch separated from the rest of the tree and dropped suddenly, taking
Alex to the ground with it. The two landed in a loud CRUNCH, followed by
Alex moaning, "Oh, my head."
"You ok man?" Mike asked, helping Alex to
his feet.
"Yeah," Alex groaned, "I'm pooped."
"We save the world yet again and he's exhausted,"
Derek grumbled under his breath, "go figure."
"I think we all deserve a rest," Alison said,
yawning and stretching out.
"We'll catch ya round," Rachel said as she,
Steve, Matt, Rich, and Dan teleported back home. Once they were gone
the other Warriors and twin Senshi returned to their mortal forms, said
their good-byes, and returned to their dorm rooms and apartments for some
much deserved rest and relaxation. The following few days brought on a
period of no activity from the Negaverse or any other forces of evil, giving
the Senshi and Warriors the rest they so much needed and deserved.
