It had been a couple days since Adderson Martin,
Derek Taylor, and Alex West gained their super power ups from Queen Serenity
and had the time of their lives at the ball. The three were just chilling
at the dining hall near their buildings. With them were Alyssa Winters
and Alison Summers, Jordan Hill, and Dennis Anderson. They were in the
middle of an exciting conversation about stuff when one of the three large
doors in the room slammed shut. They whipped around as the two other doors
slammed shut and sealed.
"Something's very wrong," Alison said.
"Nice observation Mihoshi!" Dennis said sarcastically.
Alison elbowed him in the ribs.
"We should do something," Jordan said, looking
at the other people in the room and how they were reacting, "They're starting
to freak out."
"And a panicky crowd is NOT something we need
right now," Adderson added.
"All I can say is it could be worse," Alex
said, tossing a piece of popcorn chicken into the air and catching it in
his mouth.
"How so?" Derek asked.
"At least they're not pumping anything in."
Just then an audible hissing filled the room.
From the ceiling vent a milky green gas floated, filling the room rather
rapidly. Alex and the others ducked under the tables, each using their
shirts or sweatshirts as masks. They watched people fall to the ground
as soon as they breathed the gas.
"Shouldn't we do something?" Alyssa asked.
"Yeah," Dennis said, "transform. Scorpio Nova
Power!"
"Saturn Super Nova Power!"
"Universe Rebirth Power!"
"Pluto Super Nova Power!"
"X Nova Power!"
"Mars United... "
"... Moon Power!"
As soon as they transformed they activated
their face shields and emerged from under the tables. They looked the people
over, observing in horror as they began to mutate.
"Wha.... what's happening?!" Alison asked
in horror.
"I'm.... not sure," Alex said, puzzled. He
activated his visor and began to take readings. "Scanning... yes, I know
what is causing it."
"So what is it, Einstein?!" Derek asked.
"Their mitochondria has taken on a life of
its own. It's now mutating their bodies."
"We figured that one out," Adderson said,
"Is there any way to stop them?"
"Not at the moment."
Just then the mutated people stood up and
proceeded to attack the group with teeth, claws, and fireballs.... basically
a whole array of stuff. The group of warriors and senshi took a beating,
sustaining assorted injuries, etc. As the mutants were about to finish
them off, Alex threw up his Silence Wall, providing protection for a short
amount of time.
"We need to get out of here," Jordan said,
nursing a laceration on his arm.
"But the doors are sealed," Alison said.
"Why not use the window?" Adderson asked.
Everyone turned to face him. A large sweat drop formed on his head.
"Why didn't I think of it before?!" Alex exclaimed,
smacking his forehead, "It's brilliant!"
"Break that window and it'll cost you an arm
and a leg," Dennis said. A sweat drop formed on Alex's head.
"We're dead," Derek said, "We're so dead."
"No we're not," Alyssa said, "Phobos Shockwave
Strike!"
Alyssa flapped her arms, forming twin pockets
of high pressure. She slammed them together, forming an energy wave, which
blew the window to pieces. The group then charged at the window, leapt
over the mutants, and sailed through to the outside world. Derek then sealed
the opening with a time web, holding the mutants inside.
"Well, that's one problem solved," Alison
sighed.
"No kidding," Alex said, "this is insane."
"What's causing the mutations?" Jordan asked.
"I already explained that!" Alex said, kicking
Jordan in the shins.
"Owwwww!" Jordan exclaimed, holding his sore
shin, "I forgot!"
"Their mitochondria have mutated and are taking
on minds of their own, causing the mutations, which is big trouble for
us."
Just then a chipmunk bounded over to the group,
looked up at them, and began to shake. Huge teeth grew inside its mouth,
the jaws protruding away from the face and breaking the skin away. The
body also stretched and grew in size until it was the size of a German
Shepherd. The mutant chipmunk growled at them, causing the group to have
a simultaneous face fault. They recovered and prepared to battle the mutant.
Scorpio opened up with a Sting Whip attack,
which was deflected by the creature's shield like tail. the creature then
retaliated with a bite attack which pierced Scorpio's thigh several times,
leaving out of the battle temporarily. Saturn and Universe each attacked
with their blades, each scoring a minor hit. The creature whipped around,
striking both with its tail and sending them down for the count. Phobos
and Deimos each attacked in turn, injuring the creature, yet they were
also taken out of the battle. Pluto and X combined their Sonic Blast and
Beam Cannon attacks to drain the creature of much of its life energy, only
to have the creature attack with a fireball, taking the two out of action.
the creature thought itself triumphant, only to be blown away by Scorpio's
Sting Rage attack. The chipmunk disintegrated, leaving no trace of a battle.
Scorpio then cast Cure 3 on the party, recharging them. Once everyone was
back in action, Alex asked, "What the hell was that thing?!"
"You're the resident parasite expert," Derek
said, "you tell us!"
"Actually, I can tell you," a seductive female
voice said from behind them. Everyone turned around to face a beautiful
blond in tight jeans, a tight shirt, and a tight leather jacket. Her ice
blue eyes seemed to have a life of their own.
"Hello nurse!" Derek, Adderson, Alex, Dennis,
and Jordan exclaimed. Sweat drops formed on the heads of the woman, Alyssa,
and Alison.
"So, you say you can explain this?" Alison
asked.
"Yes," the woman said, "My name is Aya Breya
and I'm very close to the cause. Actually, I can feel the person who is
causing this because I'm like them."
"Say WHAT?!" Derek exclaimed.
"Her name is Eve, and she is a mitochondriac
like me."
"Mito.... chondriac?" Alex asked, the word
stumbling off of his tongue, "what's that?"
"It's a person with too many mitochondria
in their cells," Aya said, "They get hot flashes and stuff. Eve has found
a way to make the mitochondria mutate, therefore changing all the cells
throughout an organism... "
"And thereby causing a complex mutation,"
Alyssa finished, grinning.
"Which is what happened to those people?"
Alison asked.
"And that chipmunk?" Adderson also asked.
"Yup," Aya said, "Was there a gas introduced
into the room?"
"Yeah," Jordan said, "a milky green gas."
"Ok, that's what she will occasionally use
to induce the mutations."
"But why weren't we affected?" Dennis asked.
"I'm not exactly sure. It could be because
of your powers."
"Possibly," Alex said, "though I think we
should run a scan on our armor and uniforms."
"Good idea. That way you know if it's safe
to transform back or not."
Alex reactivated his visor and mini computer
and scanned each person from head to foot and back, checking the scan as
it went. Once he scanned everyone else he scanned himself from head to
foot. When he computed the data he deactivated his visor, closed his computer
and put it back in his pocket, and returned to his mortal form. The others
gasped when they saw what he did.
"Relax," he said, observing everyone's reactions,
"the readout said I was ok. When I call your name, transform back to your
mortal form."
He said each person's name, giving them enough
time to revert back to their mortal form and wait for any ill effects to
surface. Once each person had successfully returned to their mortal forms,
Aya said, "ok, that proves your powers prevented you from mutating."
"Which Eve probably won't like," Alison said.
"Probably," Derek said, "But what exactly
IS Eve? Besides a mito - whatever she is."
"She took over a talented young opera singer
who is a mitochondriac. It just sort of happened one night at a concert,
which I attended. She sort of cast a spell on the audience, who burst into
flames. I kicked my partner out of the theater and went after her. Now
I'm on the case to find and stop her before the entire planet is overrun
by these mutations."
"What mutations?" Tod Whipple asked as he
approached. With him were Mike Garvey, Jason Cote, Josh Sweat, Jack, and
Nate.
"You're better off not knowing," Alex said.
"That bad, huh?" Jason said.
"Oh yeah," Derek said, "that bad."
Just then a scream pierced the air. The scream
was followed by two others, each one closer than the first. A couple seconds
later a woman tore past the group, followed by a mutated German Shepherd,
which was drooling while running.
"Damn shame," Mike said, watching the grisly
scene which followed.
"Who, the woman or the dog?" Nate asked. Alison
kicked him in the shins.
"Well, this proves that not just vermin are
affected," Alex said.
"We already learned that in the dining hall,"
Dennis said.
"Oh, yeah!" Alex exclaimed. Sweat drops formed
on everyone's heads. Just then the dog underwent another transformation
before their eyes, increasing in size until it was the size of the dining
hall.
"Oh baby!" Jason exclaimed.
"We're screwed," Adderson sighed.
"No you're not," Aya said, "the three with
the super power ups transform NOW!"
"Universe Rebirth Power!"
"Saturn Super Nova Power!"
"Pluto Super Nova Power!"
Once the three had transformed, Aya continued
her instructions.
"You three possess the ability to call upon
Angel.... or Eva.... armor.
"Angel armor?" the three asked.
Aya sighed deeply. "Angel armor, like the
Evangelion Units in Neon Genesis Evangelion. The three of you are pretty
much at your maximum strength and levels, therefore you should have no
problem summoning the Angel armor."
"How do we summon this angel armor?"
Aya sighed again, deeper this time, causing
sweat drops to form on the heads of the Warriors. "That is the one thing
I don't know," she said, "I was hoping you would know."
"And while we're standing here," Jordan said,
"the mutant is destroying the dorms!"
Alex's eyes glowed red when he heard this.
He crossed his arms before his chest and arched his back. He then threw
his arms out ot his sides, shoulder height. A violet light formed around
his body, covering him completely so that his entire body glowed. He levitated
and when he reached a height of one hundred feet, the glow increased in
size, taking on a somewhat humanoid form. The glow solidified into a large
mecha with a twin scabbard on the back, missile launchers on the shoulders,
and a demon - type face.
"Hey," Alex called over the loud speakers,
"this ROCKS!"
When the monsters heard this it turned around
and charged at Alex. The two collided, Alex's mecha stumbling backwards
and landing in a wooded area. The beast produced a set of diamond sharp
claws and proceeded to slash the mecha to ribbons.
"We gotta help him!" Derek said, a garnate
red light surrounding his body.
"Right on!" Adderson said, a black and gold
light surrounding his body.
"ANGEL ARMOR POWER UP!"
Adderson levitated about one hundred feet
off the ground, the light expanding and eventually solidifying into an
Eva of black and gold with a silver and gray here and there. On the left
leg rested a fairly large axe, on the back a sub machine gun. The mecha
had a fairly humanoid body with a cyclops's face.
Derek also levitated about one hundred feet
off the ground, the light expanding and solidifying into an Eva of garnate
red, blood red, and black. This Eva possessed a body with huge, hulking
shoulders, a face set in the center of the torso. On each wrist was a set
of blades consisting of a massive central one, which could be used as a
pile driver, and two smaller blades on each side, which could be used as
claws. The weapon of choice for this mecha was twin swords, which were
set on the back of the shoulders.
Once the two were in their mecha, they went
about freeing Alex's mecha from the mutated German Shepherd. Adderson wrapped
his mecha's arms around the mutant dog and proceeded to lift it up. Once
the dog was off of his mecha, Alex, with Derek's help, regained his feet.
"You ok?" Derek asked.
"Yeah, fine," Alex said, "somewhat shaken,
but fine."
"Um, guys, can I get some help?" Adderson
asked. The other two turned to see Adderson wrestling with the German Shepherd.
A couple seconds later the dog broke free from his grasp and proceeded
to bite through the right arm of his mecha. He screamed in pain, since
it was almost like the dog was actually biting through his arm. Through
the haze of pain Adderson managed to get the axe from the leg of his mecha
and, utilizing a power surge, turned the small blade into a great battle
axe. Rising the blade above his head, he said, "Bad dog!" before bringing
down the blade. There was a sickening THWACK and the body separated from
the head.
"Spew!!" everyone exclaimed as a tidal wave
of blood surged towards them.
"Sorry," Adderson said apologetically.
"Not a problem," Jack said sarcastically,
"I enjoy the smell of rotting flesh in the morning."
"It smells TERRIBLE!" Alison said, gagging.
"Hell yeah," Nate choked, "It smells like's
Alex's cologne."
Alex's eyebrows began to twitch when he heard
this. He then shouted, "MY COLOGNE DOES NOT SMELL LIKE ROTTING FLESH!!"
The reverb was intense, for glass began to
shatter; dogs began to whine and bark; a small tremor shook the campus.
Once the echo died down they could hear the bell at T - hall ring the hour.
"Awww, damnit!" Derek exclaimed.
"It's time for the fall festival to begin!"
Alex shrieked, powering down.
"We can't be late!" Jason said, running around
in a panic.
"Just be careful," Aya said as Adderson and
Derek also reversed their power ups. "there are parasites everywhere. One
cannot be sure where or when they will attack."
"We'll be careful," Josh said as the group
dashed out of site.
"For the sake of the human race I sure hope
so."
