(takes place after Nick has collapsed from burnout)
"Everybody out of the pool," a male
voice said
from the all encompassing smoke around the door. "That means you, NOW!"
"We're trying to get out," Merrick shouted
back, picking Nick up and dragging him towards the door.
"Is it one of us?" Saturn asked as they
approached
the door, huddling close to the floor to avoid most of the smoke.
A figure clad in heavy duty armor stood in
the door, waving them out into the open air and safety. Saturn squinted
through the smoke in an attempt to make out who it was, only to find
that
the person wore a visor that hid a good portion of their face from
view.
"Make way please," Celia said, opening up
a walkway so that Merrick and Nick could get through, "we have
wounded."
"Hurry up Venus," Jupiter called as she ran
for the exit, "we have to get out!"
"If I leave now the ceiling will cave in,
and everyone isn't out yet," Venus replied, slowly backing towards the
door.
"Four," Saturn said as Jupiter passed him.
"Five," he added as Venus backed out, "and I make six."
"Are you all out?" the armor clad figure
asked.
"Yeah, I'm 99.9 percent positive," Saturn
replied, smoke still hiding the other man's features.
"Good. Join them. I'll be out shortly!" the
man said, running into the inferno, a blue light encompassing his body.
Saturn arched an eyebrow as he ran to join
the other five members of his group. Just who was this take-charge
person
who was risking his life to extinguish the blaze? Did they know him?
And
why did his voice sound somewhat... familiar?
From inside the building everyone could hear
the cry of, "Neptune Tidal Wave Submerge!" Smoke and steam filled the
air
a moment later, flames going out all over the structure as water
sprayed
through where the windows used to be. The crowd held its collective
breath
as they waited fro the stranger to emerge from the burned out club.
A young man clad in ocean blue armor and black
pants stepped through the door seconds before the structure collapsed
in
upon itself. Dust and grime covered his face and turned his short hair
a dusty shade of gray. He smiled and gave a thumbs up to the media
people
waiting around the perimeter.
"There's no need to worry," he said, lifting
up the blue visor that hid his eyes so that he coudl wink at the
camera.
"The fire is out, thanks to Warrior Neptune!"
Without futher dialogue he leapt into the
air, alighting on a neighboring roof, where he gave one last wave
before
vanishing into the night.
"Glory hog," Mina hissed under her breath.
"Typical," Alex sighed as they walked through
the crowd.
"What's typical?" Merrick asked, arching an
eyebrow.
"Warrior Neptune's attitude," Alex replied,
thrusting his hands into his coat pockets.
"You mean Tony's, don't you?" Lita said,
catching
Alex's eye with a sidelong glance.
"Yeah, him. We do the hard part of saving
lives and he puts out the fire and takes the credit," Mina snarled.
"He must have been in the crowd inside or
was outside waiting or was passing by," Nick yawned. "And right now I'm
kinda hungry and very tired."
"Food, then we find an all night arcade," Mina
and Alex said in unison, "it's time to dance!"
"NOOOOOO!" the other four cried, running away
from the two crazy people. "Make the insanity stop!"
