1. E-mail me at amethyst_light@yahoo.com with:
- The titles you want to trade
- The titles you have to trade
- Your name
- Your e-mail address
2. If I approve the trade, we will exchange addresses. The first time we trade, we will agree upon a
mutually acceptible date to send our tapes. I may ask you to send yours first if I have been getting ripped off lately, sorry. Just so you don't offer me something archaic, you can find my
commercial fansubs at www.angelfire.com/nh/eternalanime/commercial.html. By the way, be courteous, don't use junk tapes like *any* TDK below EHG or Sony V. I am using nice tapes to record yours,
the least I expect in record in Maxell Golds.
3. You MUST get approval from me first
before sending me any tapes! Trading is not rocket science, I just had someone send me tapes that I did not
even want and demand tapes.
4. You should ready to trade in less than of your trade proposal, even in cases of
large trades (4+). Another guy just sent me tapes from a trade I approved two months ago and never heard from again!
5. You send me your tapes first, only in special cases will make exceptions! You see, I started out an easy guy to trade with, and then me and my
associates got taken advantage of too much, for all of those who wonder why were are so tough on trades now! Why you must send yours first is because YET ANOTHER FELLOW told me his tape got
eaten while recording and he could not send it to me; he sent me money inside, so some people are using trades to get requests when I am closed.
-- These are the new trade rules. Questions, e-mail me, though I think I have made things very obvious. I apologize if I come off as a jerk, I am just trying to be clear to avoid
any disappointments and/or unwelcome surprises on either side.
Recent rules updates:
SASE Rules: To do SASE, you must send me the following items and follow these rules:
--One unopened bubble mailer capable of holding the number of tapes
Updated Note 4/29/2000: Titles in pink lettering on the
fansub list contain explicit "adult" material, and request of these titles must include in with the
letter and payment, a photcopy of a driver's license stating you are over 18. In the e-mail request, you must state
you are over 18 and will provide an ID photocopy, not just send it without me knowing. If you do not
possess a driver's license, a state ID, college ID, or birth certificate photocopy will suffice. Feel
free to mark out social security #'s and other potentially sensitive information on the photocopy... this
is not meant as an intrusion or inconvenience, but I don't want to corrupt the young or upset anyone's parents.
No exceptions will be made.
Updated Note 1/13/2000: I do
not take international requests, but I do international trades. I
hope this clears up some confusion I have had.
1. Prices and tape qualities have changed. Instead of using Maxell Silvers for $17, which everyone
seemed to hate (they are not the best) I now use, depending on randomly determined circumstances, Fuji Pro Premiums (second best tape quality available) or, more
likely, Fuji 620s (best tapes, period). Since I am using better tapes now, the price has gone up slightly from when I was using the Golds, but the tape qualities
are better than the Maxell Golds. Three tapes are now $19.25. Also, the you can order is three. The only other number you can order is a single
tape for $8.25. Anyone who tries to order six tapes WILL BE IGNORED! This is simple stuff here.
2. E-mail your request to amethyst_light@yahoo.com. Make sure your request includes:
- Your full name
- Your mailing address
- Which tapes you want
- Your e-mail address
- Form of payment
- Subject heading as "request"
3. I will e-mail you back with the address to send your request and payment to. If within two days I have not mailed you back and my page indicates that I am open, it probably means that I have not received your mail. In this case, try reaching me at super-sakura@yahoo.com. Turnaround time is usually two weeks, but do not e-mail me with queries until ONE MONTH has passed since I got your letter. If you don't know when I got your letter because you lack psychic abilites, estimate a week from when you send it, or if you're really on the edge of your seat
e-mail me to ask. Trade turnaround time is shorter, naturally. Sorry, no international requests.
4. Payment will only be accepted in money order or cash. If you use cash, slip it into a folded piece of paper for as a measure of caution. Money order should be made out to "Cash." Sorry, no checks, they take too long to cash and clear.
5. Make sure you include in your envelope to me:
- Payment
- Legibly printed or typed letter with your request, name, mailing address, and e-mail address. Tapes are sent by USPS Priority 2-3 day mail.
- I would much appreciate if you filled out a priority mailing label with your address in the "To" place, and include it in your envelope. That way, there is absolutely no chance of your tapes getting sent to the wrong place. Priority mailing labels are available free at EVERY post office, if you can't find them, just ask the people there.
Send your letter and payment within 7 days of your request approval. I need people to do this so I don't get letters
months later from people who want me to now record their tapes. If your letter is not postmarked within eight days of my approval of your request, your tapes
will be gruesomely delayed.
I use Fuji 620 or Fuji SHG to record. If abnormal situations come up however, I reserve the right to use any tape quality as low as Maxell Silver, however, these situations will be
few and far between, rest assured, I don't play games like that. Tape qualities are subjective. Most people tend to agree with the tape qualities I assign. For example, even when other
distros and traders I trade with receive my tapes (one generation down) they usually assign it the same grade (A, B, etc.) as I assigned mine. However, there are always disagreements and borderline cases,
please keep this is mind. Also keep in mind your VCRs personal performance.
If there is something seriously wrong with your tape, like the entire thing is blank, mail it back to
me cued to the point where the *major* mistake is. This is just one of the dangers of getting fansubs, albeit a small one. However, you should always be aware that some things that you consider
to be huge taping mistakes are factored into the tape's quality rating . Be aware if you reimburse me for a tape with a "C" or lower
quality, it will not be that easy on the eyes.
--The number of tapes you want. They must be sealed in their original plastic, unopened. The only brands I will take are Maxell Gold, Hifi, TDK EHG, DSP, Hifi, and JVC SX, EHG, and up. All other brands, sorry.
-- The actual postage that it will require to send tapes. Most everybody who does this will only be allowed to do between 1 and 3 tapes, which requires a $3.20 postage stamp.
-- Check to make sure that I am open on the main page. Most of the time, I will only allow tapes fansubbed by the Lupin Gang to be requested SASE, but I may make exceptions. Follow the request rules in the e-mail. That should be all.
* I am not responsible for what the post office does to your tapes. If any of them are broken, take it
up with the postal service, not me. Be advised that there is *some* degree of risk whenever shipping tapes are involved;
however, in my experience, the risk is minimal.
