Newsletter May 2000 Notes from the April 2000 meeting- What wonders we experienced from hospitality at our April meeting. Our topic of Chinese herbs took a turn for the delicious when our hospitality team presented us with a full table of Asian cuisine! Complete with chopsticks and authentic green tea, we sampled some wonderful dishes. With full stomachs, we discussed what we knew about the Chinese herbs. Chinese herbs and Traditional Chinese Medicine is a huge and somewhat daunting topic but Maddy helped to put it in perspective a bit, explaining the theory of opposites or yin and yang that predominates the system of TCM. Lorna and Lynda shared information about different products they use with their families and later Lynda passed around some live plants with interesting aromas as well as dried licorice root for us all to nibble on. Our raffle finished up the evening, and a few people took advantage of our Lend-a-Friend system as they headed home.
