Galehead hut
The most remote hut in the chain, Galehead Hut offers spectacular views of the Pemigewasset
Wilderness. Built in 1931 from native trees, this hut survived the 1938 hurricane. It is scheduled
to be rebuilt in 1999, using the latest conservation technology. Note: all routes to Galehead are
rugged and long.
