The History of the nuclear bomb
goes back to World War II when the United States was
at war with Japan. Knowing that the Japanese would
not surrender until their whole population had been
killed. The president at the time, Franklin D.
Roosevelt commissioned a group known as the "Manhattan
Project" in August of 1942, including many
prominent scientists to develop what would be known
forever more as the "A-Bomb". The nuclear
bomb was first tested on July 16, 1945 in Alamagordo,
New Mexico.
The A-Bomb was responsible for the deaths of many
people in the bombings of Hiroshima
and Nagasaki on August 6th and 9th of 1945.
After the war finished the United States Atomic
Energy Commission was not disbanded, instead it
continued on to oversee all kinds of nuclear
functions and the watching over of all nuclear
elements.
