He was born on May 20 1973 in Winnipeg Manitoba. In 1993-94 Lonny led the WHL in Portland with 62 goals and 152 points. He was named the leagues Most Sportsmanlike Player, selected to the WHL first All-Star team and named to the Canadian Major First All-Star Team. He signed with the Canucks as a free-agent on May 31 1994. In his first pro season with the Syracuse Crunch he had 75 points. In the 1996-97 season he had 22 goals and 30 assists for the Crunch and represented Syracuse in the All-Star game. In 35 games with Vancouver he had 11 goals and 21 points. This season Lonny hasn't seen much ice time, but that's OK, 'cuz I love him anyways. This year he won Fastest Skater at the Canucks Skills Competition. This is a very big accomplishment considering Pavel Bure and Brett Hedican are on his team! From the interviews I've seen and read he seems real nice and sweet, and oh, he is very good looking! Unfortunately Lonny has once again been sent to the minor leagues to play with the Syracuse Crunch. But he is scoring tons of goals and is doing very well, he'll be back in the NHL soon! March 6 1998 - There has been a rumor in Toronto that Lonny is going to be traded to the Maple Leafs for a guy named Brandon Convery. March 7 1998 - I just heard on the news that Lonny has been traded to Toronto! Very good, maybe he'll get to play there!!! April 2 1998 - Lonny was called up to Toronto from St.John's, so he will now be playing with the Maple Leafs. April 4 1998 - Lonny scored in his first game as a Maple Leaf!!!!!! April 20 1998 - Lonny finished up the season on a six game point streak! In that streak he got 3 goals and 3 assists! Unfortuantely Toronto didn't make it into the playoffs, but I'm sure Lonny will be back next year! October 1998 - Lonny Bohonos has started this NHL 98-99 season with the St. John Maple Leafs, which makes me rather upset. Hopefully he'll play great down there so he can get another chance with Toronto.
