My Graphics and Pet pages! :o) Dedication

I just wanted to add a page with some of the dogs that we've lost. We've lost most due to old age but a few to strange diseases in their prime. I hope noone that knows me or the shop where I groom feels slighted. It's kind of bitter sweet remembering some of these guys & after a while I get depressed, so I will be adding on. (unfortunately!)

Romeo... a 5 year old White Bull Terrier... He looked like the Spudz Mackenzie dog. A true love... couldn't wait to see us (his girlfriends that's what his mom called us) & never wanted to leave.

Shane... a 13 year old Golden... He would wag his tail the entire time he was being groomed. It sounded funny in the kennel while he was drying. Just a thump, thump, thump... to let us know he was still there. I don't think he gave out until his tail did.

Katie... an old Cocker Spaniel who toughed it out through ear surgery but cancer got her in the end. She was a sweet little girl.

Schnitzel... a Standard Schnauzer (that means huge!) who knew even after going blind where he was. I ended up grooming him on the floor the last few grooms. I didn't want to torture the big guy by putting him on a table that he couldn't see.

Zack... a lumpy bumpy old Shih Tzu who is very missed by his daddy.

Cruise... One of our old timers too. He was a Shih Tzu who had yucky old man skin, could barely see, but still loved coming to see us.

Penny... an Old English Sheepdog who'd been coming since she was a puppy. Her brother was autistic & would let him steal her bandanas to wear. She'd just "hang out" playing with the other dogs until we were ready for.

Gretta... a German Shephard. She was lost young. Her stomach flipped one night & after emergency surgery we lost her soon afterwards anyway. She was survived by 2 Bichons who missed her something fierce.

Big Guy... a funny name for a very little guy. He was a dachshund who was survived by Little Bud & Shadow neither of whom ate for a week after he was gone.

Just wanted to send out my heart felt sympathy for those families in Michigan who lost their pets in a kennel fire. To those who consider their pets family, there is nothing worse than losing one in such an awful way. I just wanted to give note to such a tragedy, and let the families know that we in the cyber world care. I know this won't lessen their pain, but I hope they will visit Rainbow's Bridge and maybe find some comfort that their loved ones went to a better place.

Rainbow's Bridge... A really comforting place to visit if you've lost a loved one. They have grief counselors and chat rooms with other people who understand. You can register your pet at the Bridge so that you'll have a "cyber" place to visit. There are also online cards available if you know someone who has lost a pet.

If you have never read the poem, here it is...

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
