Bo, a smooth coated border collie, came into my life in July 1985 when I was just 13 years old. My parents told me if I saved my money, I could buy any type of dog I wanted, and since I wanted a dog for obedience in the local 4-H club, I thought a border collie would be just great. She never let me down. She saw me through all of high school, college, marriage, and my first child, always there to give me love and support.
Bo was extremely active and loved playing frisbee, running, jumping and climbing, and digging holes. In her geriatric years she still remained active and loved going on long hikes in the woods, hunting and digging along the way.
Bo was diagnosed with transitional cell carcinoma in December 1999. We treated
her with the standard medicines and kept her alive and happy as long as we
could. She left this world very peacefully, in my arms, on June 2, 2000 at
almost 15 years of age.
Bo amazed me with her extreme intelligence and she knew the meanings of hundreds of words. Talking to her was like talking to another person, she understood so much. She is deeply missed and will always be in our hearts.
"We will always carry fond memories of you in our hearts of the wonderful times we shared."
Love, Phil, Amy, Nick, Mom, Dad, Erin, Jeff, little Kayla (every dog is still "Bo" to her!) Mike, Becky, Steve, LeAnne, Shannon, and your best (and only) dog friend Psy.
