Tribute to Autumn Skye
How did you know?
How did you know I needed you when you came into my life?
A life just emptied of the core, the center, my gentle mother.
You came from nowhere,
just wandering, wandering,
looking for your forever home.
It was as if God placed you on earth at the very moment He did
so you could be found
then find me
and make me feel whole again, less fractured.
Your golden sunshine
brought into my life a new kind of hope,
one that I had not felt before you.
My first dog,
My best dog.
My sweet, sweet friend who showed me the meaning of
"Little Miss Independent,"
like Mom had always called me.
You asked for so little, you gave so much.
You, my sunshine, have gone today,
but not far.
Just high above the clouds where no more thunder,
no more pain
will touch you ever again.
Shine down your golden sunshine, sweet Autumn.
Shine down to keep me company
through my memories of our time together,
so richly blessed,
until I climb the stairs to Heaven myself
and bask in your soft warmth once again.
Thank you for being you, my sweet.
And thank you for teaching me to be a better me.
Godspeed, little one.
Until we meet again.
My heart said "Come," and you came to me August 24,2002.
God said "Come
home" today, and good girl that you are, you obeyed.
But my heart remains full
of your golden sunshine.
Love,
Marguerite
