Mattie was born in 1989 and her original diagnosis was in August of 1998. She had a tumor and lung lobe removed in 8/98 and although the vet school said she wouldn't live more than 6 months, here we are 2 1/2 years later.
Unfortunately the diagnosis is again bronchogenic carcinoma, but this time it's inoperable so we're trying different chemotherapies as well as some other things. She was diagnosed for the 2nd time in February 2001.
UPDATE NOVEMBER 24, 2001
I wanted to let you know that this morning I sent Mattie to the Rainbow Bridge because last night she had a really bad seizure that left her almost paralyzed. I was hoping that Mattie would hold on, but I guess this wasn't meant to be. She was a fighter though - she was diagnosed with recurrent lung cancer in February 2001 and made it 9 months - 8 months more than they told me she would.
