Reg# 1526
I was born on October 12, 1950, this was confirmed by DHS in their latest
"de-identified" description of my birth mother and the circumstances surrounding
my birth. I weighed 9lbs. and was 22" long, with fair complexion, blue eyes, and
blond hair, deliverd by Donald E. Bridges M.D.
DHS-BCFS described my birth
mother as born in 1931 in central Maine, 5' 6" - "very attractive with reddish
brown hair, blue eyes and a light complexion" (my hair and mustache have been
reddish brown for most of my life), "very smart and an above average student,"
who had been raised by her paternal grandparents, "as her parents had
significant problems with alcohol and were unable to care for her." She
graduated from High School and worked in shoe shops until she became pregnant
with me.
Significantly, the letter goes on to state that: "Arrangements
were made for her (my mother) to stay at a home in Penobscot County until you
were born." I believe this was the Good Samaritan Home. The letter mentioned
that my apparent birth father paid board to the Penobscot home where I was born.
When she later became pregnant with my sister, she placed me in a foster home
where I stayed until my adoption by John D. and E. Adele Brennan on July 3,
1952. I then lived in Hebron Me., where my adoptive father John "Jack" Brennan
taught at Hebron Academy until he died in 1956. My adoptive mother Adele Brennan
was re-married in 1958 to my current adoptive father of 47 years who was also a
teacher at Hebron and later at St. Paul's School where I grew up, Warren
Hulser.
