I am working on this for a good friend, Jon Emery,David Charles Emery was his father. The Birth Certificate we have created from an affidavit which was filed on May 13, 1939 which was filed in Brownville, Maine. Our belief is that there is NOT an OBC as this BC was created from the affidavit. Probably the child was just given to the family and only when the child became an adult and needed a BC for SS was this one created. We would like to get a copy of the affidavit which was filed. I have called the courts in both Bangor and Brownville and have no luck with either one finding the affidavit. Would really appreciate someone in Maine working on this. I'm a Search Angel in Texas and would be happy to help out with any cases you have down here. THANKS!
