So, just how stable is Rikuo's lovelife? Welllll, let's take a peek! And just for fun, we'll make his married life and gender no object. Percentages are derived from Doctor Love's knowledge of... luuuuuv!
Rikuo Aulbath + Keera = 67%
Okay. Duh. This kind of has to work because they're married, although they HAD to be married because they're the last of their race, at least the few left of the merfolk. At any rate, this is the canon couple, so naturally, it has to work. There's no argument here.
Rikuo Aulbath + Felicia = 64%
Despite the fact that most people like to pitch these two against each other (eh-heh-heh c_c;) I take on a different view of them. Rikuo is like... like... a big brother to Felicia! So, the possibility of this relationship happening? Slim in my view. Workable, maybe, because Felicia is all for life. Rikuo is for life as well, although doesn't favor humans QUITE as much as Felicia does.
However, the main reason it wouldn't work is because of their species. Crossbreeding doesn't seem to be a big deal in the world of Darkstalkers, but Felicia completely hates water for her cat self. Rikuo completely needs water. So naturally, because of these conditions, it wouldn't really work. Besides, Felicia doesn't see Rikuo anything beyond her big brother who's there for her when she needs him.
Rikuo Aulbath + Queen Bee = 94%
I have no idea why, but the thought of Rikuo and Q-Bee together has constantly amused me and friends of mine. There's really no reason why we think they go together. Probably because Jon gets Felicia, Demitri gets Morrigan, Jedah gets Lilith (in some people's eyes), and Lord Raptor gets Hsien-Ko (again, in some people's eyes). So where does that put Q-Bee? Who's the next bishounen in Darkstalkers? There's Rikuo! However, in conditions of their personalities... well, Q-Bee digs souls. Rikuo doesn't. However, both their species are on the verge of extinction, they're both royalty... But...
Their personalities clash, is the best way to put it. No, I don't think this couple is canon at all. There is no implication it is. There is no reason it is. I just think it's amusing. Anyway, Rikuo wants a peaceful life, but Q-Bee is far more wild. While this may amuse Rikuo, that's only as far as it goes. I love writing a weird relationship for these two, but that's about it, sadly, because... well, Rikuo's married. That's probably the only thing standing in my way of not making them a couple.
Rikuo Aulbath + Lilith Aensland = 85%
I think this is a new record. Rikuo seems to have a good chance with almost anybody so far. What a man ho. ^_~ But, anyway... I can only say maybe. Lilith takes on a very childish outlook on life, which is fine in Rikuo's view because why not live life to its fullest and most fun?
What makes this so odd is because, in my opinion, the percentage is a bit high. I'd stick with a 50% because it has an equal chance of working or not working. Lilith's interest is more in getting her own body and life back. While her association with Jedah may not bother Rikuo, they're automatically enemies when in the battlefield. (Yeah, who isn't?) There's no reason for it to work, but no reason for it to NOT work, either.
Rikuo Aulbath + Morrigan Aensland = 96%
This is VERY weird, although there's probably potential. Morrigan has even admitted that Rikuo is an "oddly handsome fish" (he's not a fish, dammit ^^;) and Rikuo has a typically kind nature. You know, as long as you don't piss him off. Morrigan's continuing devotion/interest in him may waver, however.
Morrigan likes powerful people, someone who's easy to anger. Hence Demitri. Rikuo is not as powerful as them, admittedly. There's not enough spice in the relationship. Besides, Morrigan is always one who, if she doesn't find you interesting anymore, will probably take your soul. Not a chance Rikuo's willing to take. Morrigan is, after all, a succubus. She'll drain your life if you don't keep her amused.
Rikuo Aulbath + Hsien-Ko = 86%
Now here's a relationship that could keep going, if taken care of correctly. Hsien-Ko is a lot more sarcastic and cynical than Rikuo or her sister, which definitely adds spice to the relationship. Before I really understood Darkstalkers, I kind of liked the idea of Hsien-Ko and Rikuo, but then I learned my lesson. Still, because Lord Raptor likes Hsien-Ko, he'd be even more pissed off at Rikuo if they ended up getting together, which makes me grin at that thought.
However, because Rikuo wouldn't like to move and Hsien-Ko wouldn't want to settle down (being a Darkstalker hunter and all), it's difficult for a relationship to work out. There really wouldn't be anything interesting for them to talk about other than beating up Lord Raptor (Hsien-Ko does it more for fun rather than hatred, which is the case for Rikuo).
Rikuo Aulbath + Mei-Ling = 64%
The two get along better than Rikuo does with Hsien-Ko, mostly because Mei-Ling appears to be more mature and with the program than sarcastic Hsien-Ko. They would probably have much more to talk about because Mei-Ling appears to be more onto the thinking side.
But, the problem is there are no sparks in the relationship, and like Hsien-Ko, Mei-Ling would not settle down for a relationship. She is loyal to her job and loyal to her sister. The two are inseperable, which could be another problem for Rikuo as he argues off and on with Hsien-Ko, who would also be very protective of her sister.
Rikuo Aulbath + Baby Bonnie Hood = 62%
I honestly don't see this going anywhere. As cute and "lovable" B.B.Hood can be, she's all in for the money. Nothing else. She would drop Rikuo if it meant big bucks for her and would turn on anyone if it benefitted her.
To say the least, this is... NOT a working thing. The love calculator must be broken again.
Rikuo Aulbath + Anita = 41%
The lowest one so far, and probably should be lower. They have no connecting interests of any kind, and Anita hangs around with Donovan. Not Rikuo. So, like... yeah.
The calculator got into my crack again! I mean... you heard nothing.
And now, we bring you to the shounen-ai/yaoi stuff. Hey, I said gender wasn't an object...
Rikuo Aulbath + Zabel Zarock = 95%
Um... don't hurt me here, but I actually kind of like this idea, mostly because of their current relationship that stands. They are rivals, which always seems to click with the public as "OOOO! Love-hate! Love-hate! Must write romance!" so thus... yes. Anyway. They definitely have some sparks flying here.
However... the likeliness? Not going to happen. They do hate each other, which is definitely one of the standing problems. Lord Raptor couldn't give a shit about most of the other Darkstalkers. He may like Hsien-Ko, and he probably doesn't hate Felicia, but that's about as far as Lord Raptor's positive relationships go with the cast.
Rikuo Aulbath + Demitri Maximoff = 85%
I'm seriously wondering what's wrong with this picture. As it is, Demitri holds little to no interest with Rikuo as the merman doesn't stand as a huge threat. Not just because Rikuo isn't as powerful, but they have no current conflicts with each other.
They have nothing to talk about. Nothing is similar, minus the fact that they're both royalty. Demitri's main interest is in Morrigan, and it'll probably stay that way, too.
Rikuo Aulbath + Jedah = 54%
Don't hit me (please don't hit me!! EEE!) but this is probably the only shounen-ai that'll defintiely work in my head. I'm not sure why, but it just does. For starters, Jedah is trying to achieve tranquility for the world. Rikuo is also into this sort of ideal. However, they both have different methods of doing this, but they do want the same thing ultimately. Jedah is not an evil man when you get down to it. He's tired of the fighting as much as Felicia or Rikuo is.
However... Jedah DID steal Rikuo's son to draw him in, which wasn't a good move. To an extent, Rikuo hates him. Maybe that's not even the right term; it's more like Rikuo holds a grudge against him for coming even near his family. While Jedah does comment how Rikuo is intelligent, which may or may not impress him, the two... ehhh, it's a difficult relationship to really understand. Rikuo probably would only kill Jedah because he captured Alba. Under different circumstances, it's really hard to say. So, I suppose it really WOULD be a 50% due to a possibility of working out or not.
Rikuo Aulbath + Jonathan Talbain = 82%
While they may argue more playfully than Rikuo does with, say, Lord Raptor or Hsien-Ko, Jon and Rikuo are friends. But that's about as far as I see it going.
There's really nothing there for each other. Jon is bitter, and the only one to really relieve him of that bitterness is Felicia. Probably not Rikuo as he doesn't spend time in the human world like Felicia or Jon do. So... Felicia is better off sympathizing.
Rikuo Aulbath + Donovan Baine = 64%
Ah... well, you know, in my head it doesn't work too well... Donovan is more than likely to kill Rikuo before he decides on a relationship with him. Of course, my brain doesn't comprehend him to be all that interesting. I'm not into self-pity types that often. However, this would gain some sympathy from Rikuo as he is not heartless.
But, like many other Darkstalker hunters, Donovan is on the move. Rikuo wants to settle down and just live. It really, really would not work.
Rikuo Aulbath + Pyron = 72%
Of all things... this scares me the most. If it isn't Lord Raptor Rikuo hates, it's definitely Pyron out of everybody. Pyron is the sole cause to the merfolk's near extinction, and Rikuo probably wouldn't rest well before he could at least try to kill Pyron.
Pyron... well, he has no interest in Rikuo, no matter how much he hates the alien dude. Pyron's interest is in the most powerful of Darkstalkers, and that ain't Rikuo by a long shot.
Rikuo Aulbath + Sasquatch = 43%
It probably makes sense. Although friends, they have nothing really really going. The two understand each other better than most anyone else. However, the cold does not agree with Rikuo nor does the tropical world agree with Sasquatch very well. That kind of thing clashes.
Sasquatch has a responsibilty: guard the sasquatch village. Rikuo also has a duty: raise his family and kingdom again. Being so different climate wise and their duties getting in the way, the relationship couldn't work.
Okay. This isn't everybody, but... I'll continue another day, all right? ^_^;
