Part Two: Shaggy the Savior
“I have to admit Jenny, I’m scared.” “All detectives are at one point or another.” “My boyfriend, Shaggy’s a chicken full time!” The girls laughed out loud.
“You’re mighty funny Miss Dinkley.” “First of all, call me Sabrina, second, don’t use mighty. It’s a long story.”
“We’re in here for a while. Share.” “I don’t think so, brings back bad memories I don’t want to suffer now.”
“That’s alright with me.” Sabrina sighed in relief. “Sabrina, so, what do you do for a living?”
“I work on the set of coast to coast, Mysteries Inc member, part time cheerleader in California.”
“A cheerleader? For whom?” “Well, for a hockey team I guess. I haven’t been back for weeks. I work with five others.”
“That’s a lot of work.” “Well, it pays the bills.” “Does this, Shaggy work?” “Yeah, he’s a comedian.”
“You mean, the Shaggy the great?” “Yeah. I know him.” “Where is he suppose to be?” “This is his two week leave.” “So, you’re with him?” “Yep.”
The door burst open. Kidnapper # one grabbed Sabrina. “You’re going to be bait for our trap! Ha, ha, ha, ha.” “No sense of humor.”
Outside the warehouse… “This is where they took Sabrina. I recognize the license plate.” “I know there’s going to be a trap.” “Stop worrying Shaggy. Our main concern is to get Sabrina and Jenny out!”
“That was Shaggy!” Sabrina screamed. “Shaggy! Velma! In here!” “This is a sound proof warehouse.”
Kidnapper #1 was so wrong, because Shaggy heard her. “Sabrina!” “She’s inside. Maybe being used as bait. Hold on!” “I will!” Sabrina shouted back.
The kidnappers left the scene before Freddy, Mr. Sears, Daphne, Shaggy, Scooby and Velma walked in. Mr. Sears, Freddy and Shaggy pried the warehouse door open.
There was Sabrina, shook up and very scared. Shaggy ran to her side immediately. “This is a trap!” Before Shaggy could escape, he and Sabrina ended up in a net and hoisted way above the others.
“Hey guys! Don’t just stand there! Do somethin!” Shaggy screamed. “Don’t worry you two. We’ll save you!” They fled. “Some help!” Sabrina yelled.
Outside again… “What are we going to do for them?” Daphne said. “Set a trap for them. We’ve now got to get the three of them out, no casualties.”
Sabrina and Shaggy were stuck in a bigger room. “I tried to warn you there was a trap there.”
“Like, I didn’t notice the big net under my feet.” “Sorry. My feet are swelling.” Sabrina whined.
She took off her shoes and tossed them aside. Shaggy sat on a bed, his head in his hands, sighing.
“Are you alright?” “I’m fine Jenny.” There was a barbed wire between the rooms. “Jenny, this is Shaggy, the moping one over there.” “Nice to meet you.”
“Like same to you.” “Don’t snap at her.” “Well, I’m like frustrated so don’t boss me around!” Sabrina joined Shaggy on the bed and put her arm around his shoulders.
“It’s going to be okay.” Sabrina said, trying to calm him down. He didn’t move.
“What do you want me to say?” “Nothing.” Sabrina didn’t budge. “This is only minor. We’ll get out of this jam. We always have.”
“I’m very stupid.” “Don’t say that. I tried to warn you, you’re so wrapped up in the moment you didn’t realize. That’s all. You’re not stupid.”
“Then I’m a real hypocrite for snapping at ya.” “It’s all water under the bridge.”
“Really. You’re’ not mad at me that I snapped at you?” he asked, lifting his head from his hands. “No.” She gave him a peck on the cheek and got up.
“Don’t worry Shaggy, I bet your friends will get all of us out of here.” The kidnapper came in to Jenny’s cell. “Why not me again?”
“You’ve got a special attachment to the heroes Miss. Dinkley. That’s why.” “What are you guys going to do to us?” “Nothing. We’ve got our intended target!” he said.
He left the two alone. “He left the keys in here!” Sabrina whispered. “I can’t reach!” She said again.
“I’ve got longer arms! I’ll get it!” And indeed he did. He unlocked the door and got them out.
Shaggy and Sabrina instantly tacked the two kidnappers. Throwing Jenny Roberts out of their hands and onto the floor. She got up quickly and ran out.
Shaggy and Sabrina held on to the kidnappers until Freddy, Mr. Sears, and Velma ran in. “Hey you two!”
“We got the kidnappers!” “Let’s unmask them!” Sabrina took off the one she was holding down and so did Shaggy.
“It’s the other two judges, Mr. Cromwall and Mr. Matthews!” “Why did you take Miss Roberts?” “We’re the best detectives and she got the credit!”
“Sounds like someone I know.” Freddy wised-cracked, winking at Velma. “I saw and heard that!” Sabrina said, folding her arms. They got off of the criminal detective judges and the police arrested them.
The entire gang enjoyed the show and went to the old malt shop later. “How did you two get out of the cages?”
“The kidnappers like left a key on the other side of the barbed wired fence. Sabrina couldn’t reach it so I stuck my arm in and reached the keys. We got out and tacked the kidnappers.”
“With them on the floor, that gave time for Jenny Roberts to escape.” Sabrina added, taking a bite of her slice of pizza. “Don’t make me get kidnapped again!” Sabrina added more.
She sprinkled on some pizza cheese and took a big bite. She changed out of her clothes and shoes and put on something more comfortable.
Fred read that night’s paper. “It says here: Five teenage sleuths and their Great Dane and with help from Mr. Sears, captured a couple of detective fashion judges. The two are going to be arraigned next Monday, meanwhile, they’re being held in Coolsville Jail.”
“A great end to a semi-great mystery. Let’s eat!” Shaggy said. They toasted and cheered.
