(Part one: Missing with amnesia) “Sabrina! Where are you?” “She’s not upstairs.” “Not in the basement.” “Nor on the second floor.” “She wouldn’t leave like this.” “Don’t worry about it, she’ll return.” Three weeks later, Daphne and Velma sat in Sabrina’s office at Coast to Coast. “I’m scared.” Velma said. Sabrina’s secretary walked in. “Phone call on line three.” “Great!” “No problem miss.” And she was gone. Daph took the call. “Hello this is Sabrina’s boss, who’s this?” “I don’t know what my name is!” “Where are you?” “Don’t know.” “How did you get this number?” “It was in my pocket of my coat.” “We’re on our way!” “Hurry, I’m very cold.” She hung up. “That was Sabrina. We’ve got to find her!” “Where would she go?” “California.” They called everyone in the gang to an emergency meeting. “She didn’t know is or where she is.” “I know something’s up, I can just feel it!” “Where is she?” “Where else, in the woods in California.” “We don’t have time to search all of them!” “Let me trace the area code from that call.” Velma connected the phone line to her laptop and typed, pressing * 69. “AHA!” “She’s in Orange County!” “How’d she get there?” “Don’t know” “Velma traced it all the way to the Sherlock Woods of Orange County California. Then gave Freddy an awry look. “Our chances of finding her there are slim guys.” “What’s the percentage?” “20/80 percent. It’ll lower by how much time we waste.” “What if we don’t waist time” “It goes higher.” “Good.” “”Daphne, call the travel agent, get us on the next plane to Orange County.” “I’m on it!” “I’ll get our things.” “But Daph and I already brought our suitcases.” “Mine’s on the counter next to the front door.” “Come on Scoob, lets, like, pick up luggage.” “Res Raggy.” The two were gone in a flash. Velma shut down her laptop and put it in her computer bag with various CD roms and music that Sabrina and she liked. Daphne hung up. “The next plane leaves in two hours! We’ve got to get there!” “The boys are on their way, but getting suitcases.” “We’re like back!” “Let’s go!” The entire gang ran to the Mystery Machine, heading to the airport. They got to the plane in an hour. Velma paid for their tickets and they boarded the plane. She monitored the percentage of saving Sabrina. “It’s getting higher guys! It’s higher than I anticipated. But…” “What.” “Something’s wrong.” “Why?” “Because there is.” She replied. There was no changing her mind. Velma got a feeling in her stomach that wouldn’t go away. She kept clutching on her abdomen to find out what was going on. The plane landed at five in the afternoon. They got off, met up with their van and headed towards Sherlock Woods. The gang found Sabrina, passed out under a tree. “Let’s get her to a hospital.” Sabrina came to. “Who are you guys.” “What’s your name?” “Don’t know.” “Who are we?” “The cast of Whose Line is it anyway?” “Come on!” They took her to the Mystery Machine and to the hospital. “She has a minimal case of amnesia. Tell her who you are. That’ll help her to remember.” “Yes doc.” “”Don’t get frustrated if she doesn’t get it.” So, they brought her back from California. “Okay.” “My name is Daphne.” “I’m Daphne.” “Let’s try a different approach. I’m Sabrina.” “Good!” “You’re…” “Daphne.” She seemed to be getting it. To test her, she brought in Shaggy. “Okay, who’s this.” “Scooby?” “Maybe she isn’t getting it.” “She’s getting mixed up, plus she’s confused. Don’t expect her to get it on the first try.” “Why doesn’t she rest for a while.” Velma said, coming in. “Good idea.” So, she went to bed. “Maybe we can take her out on a mystery” Daph suggested. A few hours later, the entire gang took Sabrina outside. “What’s that?” “That’s Scooby.” “That’s Scooby, the dog, over there.” “Hey Scooby.” Fred pulled Velma aside. “Your sister only remembers Scooby. Shouldn’t we be worried?” “No. She’s just, puzzled. She thought that Daphne was Sabrina. Then, she got you and Shaggy mixed up. Don’t be alarmed.” “Yeah.” They walked over to the rest of the gang.” “Let’s get rolling!” Everyone boarded the Mystery Machine, heading towards a new destination. “Sabrina, we’re going to play a game of ‘who am I’. I’m going to describe someone here, you tell me who it is.” “Okay.” “This person wears a white vest, blonde hair, a light blue shirt, and dark blue slacks. Who is he?” “Um…” “Who am I?” “I think I know. Is it…Velma?” “No dummy, it’s me, Fred.” He said gruffly. Sabrina had tears rolling down her cheeks. “I’m sorry I’m a waste of your time.” She sat in the farthest corner with Scooby, crying. Shaggy, Daphne, Fred and Velma where whispering in front. “I’ve never seen her so upset.” “You called her, like, a dummy.” “I think the littlest thing will set her off, if we show that we’re frustrated with her, she’s not going to try.” Velma concluded. “Please go easy on her.” In back…Scooby and Sabrina where whispering too. “I wish they could understand that I’m trying. I was never good at guessing games, or describing games.” “Rats rokay. Ru ried.” “I love you Scooby. You’re so special to me.” Sabrina said out loud, without realizing it. She hugged him. No one but Scoob paid attention though. “What difference will it make Scoob. I’m not going to get better. Maybe if you teach me…I’ll get somewhere?” “Rsure.” Sabrina took out a pad of paper and a pencil. He sketched. “Rho’s ris?” He asked once he was done. He put the beginning letter of the person on the bottom. “Rill rit rin.” “Can I say it out loud?” “Rsure.” Velma and Shaggy turned around. “What tha…” “That’s Daphne.” Sabrina said. “Am I right?” Scooby nodded. “Rim going ro rite ris rown.” He asked what Daphne does for a living. “She’s a television star.” Daphne heard that and her mouth dropped about six inches. “Oh my. What did you do Scooby?” He showed her. “I should have done that.” Scooby drew Velma next. “Rhos rat?” “That’s Velma.” “Rhat roes re roo roar a riving?” “She owns a bookshop taken over from my aunt. It’s located on Elm Street.” It was Velma’s turn to be shocked. He drew himself. “Rhos rat?” “That’s you, Scooby-Doo.” “Rim going ro rite ris rown, arain.” He wrote down the question. “Shaggy’s your owner. He uses to work at an airport in the city. And, Freddy’s over there, he helps Daphne on her show.” “What’s the name of it?” “I don’t know.” “It’s partly back.” They reached the mystery. TO BE CONTINUED… PART TWO: CONFUSED IN CAPTIVITY
