Completely Overlooked

Shaggy looked in Velma's last entry of her logs. Sabrina sat in the front, with her arms folded. Shaggy and Sabrina have been going out for almost two years. Something definitely changed between them. Daphne looked at Sabrina. "What's wrong?" Daph asked, getting Freddy's attention. Now he was looking at her. "What's up with the scowl look?" "Something I don't want to discuss." Shaggy had been attentive to something else over the past few months and completely whited out Sabrina from his mind. She wasn't going to take it anymore. She began to push away from everyone, gradually. "Something's going on with you, you're beginning to push us away. Even shaggy!" "You've just found the source of my problem Sherlock!" Sabrina snapped, whispering. "Shaggy?" Fred said, aloud. "Here and accounted for." "Nothing Shaggy. Sabrina's got problems. Have you two been talking?" "Like, hardly." "Pull over Freddy, I'm want to get some fresh air." "I don't think so." "Do as I say or I'll jump out." "Don't want you to do that either." He pulled the Mystery Machine over to let Sabrina out. "What are you going to do?" "Walk for a while. I've got twenty bucks. I guess I can get a salad." "A salad? You hate salad." "Something's changed." "Well, I guess it has." Sabrina closed the door to the passenger side. Freddy pulled out onto the main roadway. "Was it something I said?" "What's wrong with Sabrina?" "I don't know. I didn't care to ask anymore." Sabrina waited until they were out of sight before calling for a taxi. "Taxi!" One pulled over and Sabrina got in. "Where would you like to go?" "Mario's Pizza Place." "Right away." Sabrina sat in the back, slumping down in the seat. "I know it's none of my business miss. And I don't mean to be personal, but, what's wrong?" "My boyfriends pushing me away, he completely overlooks me like I'm not even there!" Sabrina gripped her head. "What's wrong now?" "Could you take me to Coolsville Medical Center instead?" "Sure." That's where she went. In Shaggy's apartment, he checked if Sabrina was home. Then went back down to join the gang. "Where's she?" "I don't know." The waitress picked up the ringing phone. "Shaggy, Velma, it's for you?" "Who is it?" "It's not Sabrina, it's her mother." "Thanks." Velma took the phone. "Hello?" "It's your mother." "I know that. Where's Sabrina?" "She's at Coolsville Medical Center." "Is she alright?" "She didn't say. She said to let anyone know where she was that gave a care. That's what came out of her mouth." "What's her problem?" "You're going to ask your sister. She's very upset by the way she sound when she talked to me." "Upset?" "Yes. She broke down over the phone." "Broke down?" "Yes. Stop asking questions. Have you asked her how she's been feeling lately?" "No. I've got work to do. I don't have time to ask how she is. She's getting in the way." "She tells me that she's getting out your way." "Thanks." She hung up. "Where is she?" "Coolsville Medical Center." "A medical center? Why?" "She didn't say." The gang rushed to the medical center. "Looking for a Sabrina Dinkley?" "Nope, there's a Sabrina here." "Did she give a last name?" "She used one, but she said to anyone who asked about her not to give them information. Sorry." In the doctor's office, "I don't know what's going on with me. I've got major headaches 24/7." "How frequently are your headaches or they're always there?" "Let's just say, I haven't felt a clear head for months now." "How bad are they?" "There so bad that I can't lift my head up off the pillow some mornings." "That bad? Want your head scanned?" "I want to find out what's wrong with me. That's all I want." "We're going to run some tests on you. If you'd follow me…" Sabrina followed Dr. Lopez. Velma glanced at an opening door. She turned away. But Freddy and Scooby saw her come out of the door. "Sabrina?" "When did you guys start caring?" She said, sarcastically, gently brushing her hand on Scooby's head. "Ri rare." "I know you do." She said sweetly. "Come on Miss Dinkley." "Can I bring him with me. I'm kinda nervous." "Sure." "Come on Scooby." Scooby, Sabrina and Dr. Lopez went to the MRI room. "Lay very still." Scooby sat in the room in one of the chairs. The scanning took five minutes. "That's weird." "What Doc?" "Major migraines, but nothing's come up. Wait a dong gone minute!" "What? Is it serious?" "Nope, you've got a benign mass on the top of your brain. Have people been asking how'd you been?" "No one asks." "Not even your friends?" "They don't care. I'm completely invisible to them. My boyfriend's followed in their footsteps. Doesn't ask how my day is or not how I am." "We need to get that mass out of your head. Plus, you need some one on one counseling." "I can handle this myself. I don't need a quack to help me." "This mass has effected everything." Scooby was signaled to come over. "Everything?" "Your emotions, your mind, thoughts, everything." "Ask me a question?" "What do you think of solving mysteries?" "I love a good mystery doc. That question's retarded." "Dark, spooky places?" "Don't care." "How were you, two months ago, solving mysteries." "I was the biggest chicken head walking on the face of the earth, I loved my jobs, I love my family still, I'm head over heals in love with my boyfriend. I was everybody. Everyone liked me and I liked everyone back. Since the mystery solving business has goin to the dogs, no offence Scooby." "None taken." "Since that happened, I haven't been happy at all, not a smile crossed my face, my friends don't care to ask how I am. I've cried a lot over the couple months. I'm pushing my friends away, wisecracking them, and talking sarcastically to them in a sarcastic voice." "Can you find the source to you problem? Why do you think you've changed?" "The problem is my boyfriend's not including me in his life, and, and, I think the reason why I've changed is because no one's been paying much concern for my welfare." "Why have you chose the dog to be your friend?" "He knows where I'm coming from." "Okay Miss. Dinkley, when can I pencil you in for surgery?" "What times do you have available?" "This week actually, how about this Wednesday?" "Wednesday it is. What time do you want me in?" "I suggest we get this mass out as soon as possible. Seven thirty." "Good." "I'm writing it down for yours and for my benefit. This is so because I don't know what that mass is going to do to your brain over the course of two days. What's today?" "Monday." "Get plenty of rest, drink lots of fluids, eat healthy foods. I suggest grains like pasta and fruits and veggies." "What bout dairy products? Can I have those too?" "You can, but very little. Drink juices and water." "Thanks." She was given a slip of paper and was allowed to leave. The gang was gone without Scooby. "What do you want to do now?" "Ralk?" "Let's." The two walked all the way to where they lived over the pizza house. "Let's get something to eat before we go up." "Rah!" They went in. "Hey Sabrina. How ya feelin?" "That's the first anyone has said to me. I have to go in for surgery this up coming Wednesday. I've got a mass on the top of my brain. Totally changed me." "That's why you've requested aspirin a lot." "I get major headaches." "Anything's on me. Get something to eat." "The problem is, I can only eat fruits, veggies, pastas and very little milk products." "Queer doctor." "No kidding." "What'll it be?" "I'll have a big plate of pasta, traditional sauce and a tad of cheese." "Scooby?" "Raim ring. Rad ranrovies, rand reppers." "Okay Scooby, Sabrina, your orders are coming up." "Thanks." "No problem Sabrina." Hannah went back with Sally and the other waitresses. The gang walked in to go up to the apartments. They noticed Sabrina and Scooby at the counter. "What's wrong with her?" Velma asked Hannah. "I don't think you want to know. You ask her." "I don't have time for that!" Sabrina and Scooby looked at them with smug looks on their faces. "Hannah, where's the orders?" "There on their way." "Thanks for the food and everything else." Sabrina said, turning over. Scooby copied. At the counter, "Did you hear that!" Sabrina asked leisurely. "Rep." "Don't have time." Their orders arrived. "Oh man Scoob! Smell the aroma of spaghetti." "Rah." "Dig in!" Two days later, on Wednesday, she went in for her surgery. "You ready Sabrina?" "I'm not, but let's get this over with." "We've put some anesthetic in you so you can fall asleep. This will work in a few seconds and we'll begin working on you." Scooby waited outside. Five hours later, after locating the mass, they took it out. "Okay guys, sew her up and put her in recovery." So, they sew her up and put her in recovery. Sabrina had a big bandage wrapped around under her chin and the top of her head. Going round. The gang learned their lesson that day. "What have we learned?" Dr. Lopez asked. "If you don't ask what's wrong with a person, they could be really sick." "That's good." One at a time visited Sabrina. Apologizing and explaining why they've completely overlooked her. Sabrina woke up hours later, in pain. She paged Dr. Lopez. "Why do I have a big headache?" "It's actually the pain from where we cut you open and where we stitched you up." "Oh." "These people have something to say." "We're sorry." "For what?" "Blocking you from our minds. We've totally learned our lessons." "Good." Sabrina was released a week later. She became the old Sabrina again. The end
