The Scooby Doo Connection

“You’re leaving us?” “Rah, rother reams.” “Other, dreams?” “You know how much you’re going to be missed.”

“You going alone.” “Res.” “No.” “Why not.” “Sabrina, I’m sorry, I might have to go with him.”

“Ro!” Scooby shouted. He left angry. Everyone consoled each other. “What should we do?” “We can do two things.” “And, they are?”

“Throw him a farewell party, and then talk about our memories.” “Throw him a farewell party!” Everyone cheered in agreement.

Sabrina started crying. She turned to Shaggy and cried on his shoulder. Shaggy put hand on her back and rubbed her.

“We’ll be fine.” “Let’s go home.” “Yeah.” So, Velma, Shaggy, Fred and Sabrina went back home.

Velma, Shaggy and Sabrina sat around the table, talking about memories that they have of Scooby, happy memories. “Remember the time I got very sick…”

(Sabrina’s Memory as Sabrina’s telling it)

I got very sick, the worst flu I’ve ever gotten. Plus it was during the springtime. They were over at mom’s house picking flowers that were ripe and bloomed.

I sat in a recliner, with pajamas on and a blanket covering my lap. I was reading a book.

Scooby came trotting in with a big bouquet of flowers, hand picked by mom. I heard doggie feet coming down the hall and into the den where I sat.

I looked up from my book. “Hey Scooby, what you got there?” “Rowers.” “Flowers? For me?” “Rah.” He placed them in my lap and smiled.

“Rowers, ror roo.” “You’re soo sweet.” I smelt them. Mom and Velma got up and looked though the open window to the den.

I started to pat Scooby’s head. “Good boy. Thanks.” “He thought that he’d make you feel better.”

“You’re the sweetest dog I know.” I gave him a kiss on the top of the head. He left, but brought me a few more flowers. “More?” “Rah.” I gave him a big hug.

(Sabrina memory ends)

“You love that memory.” “That’s one of the best memories of Scooby that I’ll hold on to for the rest of my life.”

“He helped us on so many mysteries.” Velma mentioned. “My memory of Scooby, the best one was, when at that picnic when we were younger, I didn’t have a dog to race with, it was a girl/ dog race…”

(Velma’s Memory as she tells it)

I was staying over at Fred’s house, and we had a picnic that day. It was another day that Sabrina got sick, still she came to the picnic.

Sabrina was suppose to race with Scooby, since she came down with a virus, so, she stayed with Shaggy.

“I don’t know what we’re going to do Mr. Timms. Sabrina’s very sick, and she’s suppose to race with Scooby.” “Let’s find a replacement.”

“How about Velma? She hasn’t done anything yet.” “We’ll consider it.” “Please Mr. Timms,” Velma said sweetly, “I’d really like to.” “As I said, we’ll consider it, Velma.”

Mr. Timms and Ms. Timms walked away. “We’ve got to convince the Timms that Velma can fill in for Sabrina.” “Speaking of Sabrina, where she go to?”

“Right here.” Sabrina said in her sickly, scratchy voice. Mr Garr walked over to Sabrina. “Hello Sabrina. What’s got you down.”

Shaggy got up and stood next to Sabrina, who was wrapped in a blanket. “As the voice of Sabrina…” Shaggy said.

“Like, she’s got bronchus, laryngitis, and the cold.” “Do you have a replacement for the dog race?” “We suggested to Mr. Timms that Velma should replace her.” I sat down next to my sick sister and gave her medicine.

“I’ll talk to Mr. Timms. I think putting Velma in the race with Scooby would be the perfect idea.”

I got up and walked around with Scooby. “Hey Scooby. Would you like me to replace Sabrina?” “Rure.” That’s where Scooby and I got emotionally attached.

An hour later, after some hard convincing that I should be in the race, I got in and raced. We won the race by the way. Sabrina cheered us on, from her tree she leaned on.

(Velma’s memory ends)

Sabrina sipped her orange tea. And Shaggy got up and gave himself grape juice and Velma some coffee. “Like, my memories are just having fun with Scooby and like, pigging out every night.”

Velma’s door bell rang and Sabrina got up to answer. “Hey Sabrina,” Daphne said, “We wanted to come over and share our happiest memory about Scooby.” “Come on in.”

The door closed behind Fred …

End of part one
