My human and I had never been to the Lady of San Juan del Valle church but we'd
heard they had this walkway with statues that depicted the crucifiction of Christ.
We decided to check it out.

Jesus is condemed to death.

Jesus carries his cross.
'The dedication on the Way of the Cross took place on October 16, 1993. These 14
stations are depicted by 30 life size bronze statues and are placed along a 3/4
mile path.

Jesus falls for the first time.

Jesus meets his mother.
On February 2, 1995 the exterior wall of the shrine was blessed with the dedications
of its majestic mural titled "Jesus Presents his Mother."

Simon of Cyrene helps Jesus.

Veronica wipes Jesus' face.
The Shrine was designated a National Shrine on March 24, 1998 and on June 12, 1999 it was
designated and honored as a Basilica which gives it its present name of "Basilica of
Our Lady of San Juan del Valle - National Shrine."'

Jesus falls for the second time.

Jesus consoles the women.

Regardless of what religion you practice, I think everyone should make an effort to
visit this walkway if they're in the area.

Jesus falls for the third time.

Jesus is stripped of his vestments.
Not only will you get some great exercise, you can also see and appreciate all the work
that went into making these statues.

Jesus is nailed to the cross.

Jesus dies on the cross.
It is worth a visit. I hear the weenie dog races are coming up in Buda, Texas.
Perhaps we'll make that our next stop. Keep checking back for more updates.

Jesus is taken down from the cross.

Jesus is laid to rest in the tomb.
