What got sludge stuck in your head at the time? Dave - I think seeing the name Judge might have something to do with it.
who named the band? Dave - Well, I had the name stuck in my head for awhile and thought it would work well together with the music I wanted to play. After the band started I could tell that the name fit just fine and dandy!
What brought up the name Hatecore as a category for the band? Dave - Hatecore is a term alot of people help describe a certain kinda music. Hardcore but almost Death but not quite. Hatecore also lets you know that we are no joking matter in what our lyrics are about. Not racist, but just pissed at the world and how shitty it has become over the years.
If you could give your band a name of a style. would you stick with Hatecore or develope another description name? I would have to say UNDER MUCK!
What is your goals for the band later in time? Dave - We have a 9 song CD coming out on an independent label called Twist of Faith Records outta Virginia Beach. This is one thing we look forward to in the future. The CD comes out Mid September.
What is it that gives the singer so many hateful ideas? Dave - Well, I would have to say Dan gets pissed at alot of things he sees while living day by day. How fucked the world is becoming. How it could change for the better. But, know one wants to hear shit cause the government runs our lives and makes us think everything will be all right.
If you could describe Dan in 5 words, what would they be? Dave - Hate, Angry, None Pitty, Discusted, HATE!
What is your view on the bands meaning? Dave - SLUDGE! means alot to me. It has brought us 4 as a band together and made a name for ourselves in the underground scene. The music is a different story. We try and create creative hardcore music with some kinda meaning behind the lyrics. Not that punk ass crap you hear everyday. Like fast songs that have 3 chords or something.
What got you interested in the style of music you play? Dave - I've always liked people that create instead of try and copy someone style. I guess that's why we are so picky about how we write a song.
What are your views on society today? Dave - Todays society sucks. People going around killing each other for no reason, People killing their new borns cause they just want to. People are just plain stupid in general. Look at some of the people today. No one understands them cause they don't want too. It's not there is nothing to understand. They put them in jail and forget about the horror they have done to others.
What is your dream show? Dave - My dream show would have to be playing in Europe someplace in front of 1,000's of kids kicking and punching the shit out of each other until that owner pulls the plug for the kids to get on stretchers.
How do you describe the shows you play now? Dave - The shows aren't too bad anymore. Alot of kids come out and support the bands even though there are some really bad ones.
Have you ever had a problem at a show? Once, some skinheads showed up and started some crap with someone.
Whats the most embarrasing experience you ever had with a show? Dave - I really haven't had a embarrassing experience yet that I know of. But I'm sure after this interview one might come to effect!

What are your views on the phrase "Sell out"? Dave - Sell out to me means METALLICA. Not doing what you want too. Being controlled by someone else and listening to your interself.
