The '94-'96 Impala SSpotter's Guide

• Standard Onyx Black was the only color offered in '94
• The sideview mirrors are mounted on the front door panels
• A piece of trim with the Impala emblem is mounted on the rear quarter windows to "round off" the corners
• All 1994 Impala's have a column shifter, combination digital and analog gauges, and bucket seats

Here's how to tell you are looking at a 1995 Impala SS:

• Dark Cherry Metallic (seen above) and Dark Green-Gray Metallic were two new colors added to the lineup in '95
• The sideview mirrors moved into the corners of the front door windows and off of the door panels
• Rear quarter windows were rounded off and Impala emblems mounted to the quarter panel itself
• The '95 Impala's have an updated interior dome light
• The stock Delco stereos received a Speed Compenstating Volume feature
• All 1995 Impala's have a column shifter, combination digital and analog gauges, and bucket seats

Here's how to tell you are looking at a 1996 Impala SS:

• Standard Onyx Black, Dark Cherry Metallic, and Dark Green-Gray Metallic (seen above) were the only colors available
• There were no exterior changes from '95 to '96
• All 1996 Impala's have the standard bucket seats, but a floor shifter was added to the console
• All 1996 Impala's also have an analog speedometer and a tachometer, but lost the voltmeter and oil pressure gauges

There are some "Impala Trademarks" remained the same for all three years. They are:

• 17x8 1/2" five-spoke ROH-designed aluminum wheels
• Special body-color grill with chrome center bowtie
• Trunk-mounted spoiler
• Body-color wheel well trim and mouldings
• Special gray leather interior- "SS" embroidered on the front headrests, Impala logo on rear seat
• 5.7 liter LT1 V8-Iron block and heads-260HP/ 330ft.lbs.
• 4L60-E automatic transmission
• Four-wheel disc brakes
