According to the 1900 Census of NJ, MATTHEW came to the US in 1886, but it might have been as early as 1870.
According to the his Marriage Certificate MATTHEW was 38 years old, living in Greenville, NJ and working as a laborer when he married JULIA BURKE (see BURKE page)
The marriage certificate states that MATTHEW's parents were PATRICK HOWARD and BRIDGET HOWARD, both born in Ireland.
