I have very little informatin on ETHEL LILLIAN NORMAN. She is known as "LILLIAN" in the few family records I have.
Marriage Certificate: ETHEL LILLIAN NORMAN married ALFRED A. HENSON (see ALFREDHENSON page) November 28, 1908 in Jersey City, NJ. The marriage certificate states she is 17 (might be 14 - hard to read) years old and living in Jersey City, NJ at the time. Her birth place is listed as Kingsbridge, N.Y. State. Her parents names are ISAAC NORMAN and JENNIE KING.
According to the 1910 Census of Hoboken NJ, ETHEL LILLIAN is living on Grand Street with her parents, her daughter and two young cousins, Charles (11 years old) and Kathy (9 years old) Wilson.
The Census states that ISAAC NORMAN is 59 years old born in NJ. ISSAC NORMAN's father was born in NJ and his mother in NY. his occupation is listed as porter. JANE KING NORMAN is 64 years old and was born in NY. Her father was born "At Sea" coming from England and her mother was born in NJ.
Isaac Norman was born about 1855 in NJ. His parents names were Henry Norman and Mary Hendrickson. Other children were William (1846), John P.(1848), Elizabeth (1852), Jane (1856), Phebe (1858), Margaret (1860), James(1863), Frederick (1866) and Jesse (1869). Birth years are approximate. The family lived in Bergen County from 1850 to 1880. They were living in Jersey City, NJ in 1900.
Jane KING was born about 1845-1847 in NY. Her father's name was George King. Her mother's name was Bridget. In 1850 - 1860 they lived in Yonkers, Westchester, NY. George was born in England according to the 1850 Census. His parents may have been Clement and Anna. On the 1870 Census I found a Bridget King living in Yonkers, Westchester. She was a widow and her daughter is listed as Ellen J. I think this is 'my' Jane King.
ETHEL LILLIAN NORMAN died 11/05/1913 in Hoboken, NJ.
I would love to know more about "LILLIAN" Did she have any brother or sisters?
