The Beep

Today in a quiet night
Sitting alone replying emails
I got a little pop up message..
A little hi from an old friend

We have not talked for a long while
But then the smile creeps back
Back to the weary face
That have grown unfamiliar to the smile

We talked just like before
All the jokes and all the laughter
It felt just like yesterday
When we last chatted

You cheered up my tired soul
That had felt half alive
You brighten up the dark night
That had look so bleak

I just want to say thank you
For being a friend to me
For the time you gave to me
For the happiness you brought me

Thank you for giving me the beep
Always
