BOB PETILLO'S PHOTOREALISM

These paintings, measuring 48" X 42", are painted in PHOTOREALISM; an old favorite painting style of the artist.

This great photorealistic painting of a cookie jar was created in 2000 as a Gallery Piece. It is the first piece in this new series of Bob's Favorite Cookie Jars. When asked about this piece, Petillo said, "This very shiny cookie jar is shown reflected in a patterned chrome tile; the exact same pattern as the tin ceiling I remember in my grandmother's kitchen. Under it, she had one of those Felix wall clocks with the eyes that moved. I look at this and I could just smell her cookies burning. "

This is the second in the new series of Bob's Favorite Cookie Jars. Bob was drawn to this jar because you can actually see the contents which is unusual. He says this way he gets to see his favorite munchies all the time. And boy does he love peanuts.

This fabulous painting is the third in the series. The theme is "HOT" and the name is "RED HOT". Loving the Southwest and Mexican culinary heat, Petillo gets his message across. Again, masterfully painted in it's precision and detail.

From Snow White, the evil queen, her poison apples and a dying flower pose in the mirror for this amazingly vivid painting. Petillo's comments about this painting? "Mirror, mirror on the wall, this is my favorite one of all"

Another amazing photorealistic study. This one is a study of different ways black and white can be painted."

THE HUMBUG puts a new twist on the word "SWEET"

"TEA PARTY" is another study of the subtle beauty of color and light painted with the masterful use of half tones and values.
