"Lost?"
i cried a pool for my dreams to swim in
wondering and hoping they’d be fished out and saved
thinking about their future
if they had one
pushing some nightmares aside
praying that as i heard you say goodbye
it wasn’t a goodbye forever
asking that it be a goodbye until next time
waiting for that next time to come around
watching my dreams toss and turn
seeing them try to crawl to safety
the safety they had in my head and in my heart---5-4-99---
"Time"you never know how long a minute is
until the one you’re waiting for doesn’t come home
until the thoughts of kidnapping and accidents fill your mind
until the car in front of you is hit by the guy who ran the light
you never know how long an hour is
until the one you’re waiting for still isn’t home
until you’re waiting for work to be over
until you’re waiting for that important phone call
you never know how long a day is
until you’re sick in bed for an entire day
until the day before your wedding
until you’re waiting to see the friend you haven’t seen in years
how long does time take
you never know
until something happens
that makes time slow down
that’s when you realize
how long time actually is
