Fact: The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection which controls New Jerseys State Parks and Forests and controls Wildlife Management areas in New Jersey has passed rules that state no ATVs are permitted in wildlife management areas and No ATVs are permitted in State parks or forests by passing these rules the D.E.P. has eliminated use of ATVs on any public land in NJ Fact: New Jerseys Division of Motor Vehicles advertises if you register and insure your A.T.V. you may ride it on public lands and waters. This coincides with state law that states you must register and insure your ATV to be able to ride it on public lands and waters in New Jersey. Fact: There currently is only 2 legal places in New Jersey to ride an ATV or off-road motorcycle one is located in Chatsworth and the other in Egg Harbor Township they are owned and operated by 2 different off-road clubs you can find a link to their websites in our links section Fact:

Co. Has introduced a bill SB-529 which requires the state to create 30 miles of
off-road motorcycle trails in a northern N.J. state forest or park , although
this bill does nothing for ATV riders this is a major step in the right
direction towards creating a OHV trail system in NJ state forests. Fact: In
other states off highway motorcycles, all terrain vehicles and other forms of motorized recreation are operated by many forest users including hunters and fishers to access their favorite areas; police officers who conduct off highway vehicle (OHV) programs to foster a bond with urban youth; aging or disabled persons who may not be able to hike into otherwise
inaccessible areas but still want to enjoy the great outdoors; families who want to recreate together; and for sporting activities.
