As you head down the winding road leading out of the main town of Rhydin, you see many pathways straying off to either side. The left side leads to the meadows, the other.....woods. You choose to take the right. As you enter the wide pathway into the woods, you see lush green trees and animals of many kind chirping and scattering about. Sun-beams push through the canopy to light your way as the wind gently blows. As you head deeper into the woods, the pathway narrows, the wind has stopped....the animals silent and still. You look into every direction and see nothing but dead trees.

Continuing down, the pathway abruptly ends at a body of water. As you turn your head to the left, you see a horn attached to a carved wooden stand. Wondering what its for, you decide to blow into it. A deep bellow is released and it echoes across the water. A clicking sound can be heard in the distance and you look to the water and see somthing rising out of it. A wooden pathway rises to just inches above the waterline. With nothing to hold on to, you carefully begin to make your way down this wooden pathway. Upon 60 paces, you run into a dense fog. You can barely make your hands out in front of you. Continuing on, a slight outline of a wall can be seen. As you approach it, the pathway ends upon solid ground. A wall of dark stone is on either side of you and a large iron gate with the letter "L", the mark of the Lasambra stands before you. The gate creaks open slowly as if somebody was opening it for you. You pass through the gate and step onto a slate pathway with the walls still on either side and the gate slams behind you.

Taking another 20 feet, you finally come to its destination. A huge Keep made of the same dark stone as the walls at the entrance. It stands four stories with towers extending to 7 stories at each of the four corners. As you step up to the main doorway, you look up and see carvings within the stone. An inscribed sign above the doorway in Latin reads "Lay in shadows, embrace the night..... Beyond these heavy doors lies shelter.....shelter from mortals light."
