story begins in the Kingdom of Toria. A land where each of the kingdoms
within it rested upon the clouds. And to travel between each one
rode upon the backs of enormous Falconlike creatures. Talon was a child
one could easily term as mischievous. Somehow the streams and mud puddles for
miles around the home where he lived with his father, mother and younger
brother Daubkin constantly whispered his name. Yet, his bright and
sunny smile, impish grin and the story he produced to explain how the mudmonster
attacked him, never earned him more of a punishment from his mother than
a slight disapproving glance and a hot bath to clean his days adventures
from him.
ut one such adventure was to change that 7 year old boys life forever. Upon returning from the forest, whilst
trying to think of a reasonable excuse as to why he was covered in mud and soaking wet this time he came upon
a sight that haunts him to this day. His parents dead and brother missing, a neighboring kingdom had attacked
while he played unaware within the woods. His heart beating wildly within his chest he ran as fast as his legs
could carry him towards the main village only to stop short upon the outskirts as he watched the battle before
him. The buildings lay in smoking ruins and unawares to the little boy one of the attacking forces had him
within his sights. As the arrow left the enemies bow and sang through the air towards him, a dragon swooped
down from the skies and young Talon found himself airborne. A sight which his brother, Daubkin, also saw,
though not realizing this to be a savior, he thought he was witnessing his big brothers demise and swore from
that day forward his vengeance upon all Dragons.
o one knew of the friend he had made while adventuring within the forests. And now he became both father and
mother, teacher and friend to Talon. And as he grew DS taught him the ways of the dragon, and he learned to
weave magical spells. An avid student he became, in the hopes of learning a spell that would reverse and bring
back that which was lost to him. Time goes on as it always will and Talon grew to be a young man, as did his
brother. When Talon was 17 their paths were to cross once again. Daubkin hunted down the dragon he thought
responsible for his brothers death, having killed many in the time in-between. And a battle ensued when he did,
neither brother recognizing the other, Talon did his best to save the life of the only family he now knew but his
brother's skills proved too great for him. As the smoke cleared, DS was slain and Talon lay unconscious, left for
dead by Daubkin. Once again, Talon found himself alone in the world and even more determined to learn the
skills to keep such a thing from happening again.
e left the forests and joined the SkyKnights of Toria. He learned the ways of the warrior and his battle prowness
and skills as a fighter quickly rose him through the ranks. and he was gifted with "Assagiri" and "Sazuka". Twin
curved holy blades that were magically attuned to him and each other, and carried within them the ability to
heal and block temporal spells within a hundred foot radius. He found, though, something still missing from his
life. He wanted a family, more than he wanted a military career. So at the age of 18 he gathered his belongings
and set out on a journey that was to take him from Toria through a temporal nexus to the Kingdom of Ratae and
the first home he had known since his parents had died.
any friendships were forged within the castle walls of Ratae. Talon's quick
laugh and puckish nature even causing the most stoic of Knights to smile. He
found he had both a love and talent for drawing and was soon commissioned to design
their own White Dove Inn. He flirted and captured the hearts of the females of
the kingdom, but his fear of losing what he held closest kept him from becoming
too serious with any. Yet two were to play an important part in his life in the
coming years... Lexi and Kaela. Lexi, one who he had known from the day he set
foot within Ratae and Kaela, whom he thought he could love but hadn't any idea of
the twisted mind that lay beneath the innocent exterior.
hen he discovered the true nature of Kaela as well as realizing the feelings
he held for Lexi, he tried as gently as possible to break off his and Kaela's
relationship. Already mentally unstable, this sent her over the edge, committing
suicide in front of him after hearing the news. The shock and sorrow of this, while
not in love with her he still wished her no harm, sent him on a solitary journey
to heal both his heart and soul. Returning many months later her found Lexi had
felt the same for he as he did for she and in a simple ceremony between just the
two they proclaimed their love and spoke their vows till death should they part
, and Talon thought at last he had found a love that he would never lose.
ate, however, had other plans in store for Talon. He awoke one day to find his
Lexi vanished without a trace. He left no stone unturned in the whole of Ratae as
he searched for her but it proved fruitless. Giving up hope of finding again the
woman he loved he kept on journeying, past the borders of this kingdom frequenting
the sparring halls of RhyDin as fighting seemed to be an outlet and release for
his loss. Though he swore to himself never again would he love another as that love
always disappeared. Little by little he began to fall back to the happy-go-lucky prankster
and though he would give it to no other, his heart finally healed.
