People, Places, & Things...
Come in, take a seat and feel free to browse my own private photo gallery for the world to see. Here is an assemblance of various pictures from my travels, local scenery, interesting people and places, and other errata.
"Is this what heaven looks like?" Okay...I never did see that movie, "My Own Private Idaho" but I did see the real deal. In December 1996 I went out to Sun Valley for a spell and took this "stunning" shot en route to work.
I took this shot of some natural splendor at Yellowstone National Park. I was working there in the summer of 1994. Watch out for Yogi and Boo-boo.
This is an idyllic beach shot from the town I reside in...Wildwood, New Jersey in the Anglesea section specifically.
This picture is one of my personal favorites. That's yours truly with grammy award singer Seal after a concert in Philadelphia in November 1994. Seal was cool. Without close inspection, you may notice that my "eye" is a bit...unatural. I have to confess there is some digital trickery here. When this shot was taken, my eyes were squinted as I was caught unawares by the camera flash. When the photo came out, I was most displeased. Last summer, I purchased a scanner and now I was "READY" for the event. I painstakingly added the "eye" you see here. Yes, I really do have blue eyes but not as glazed as the color you see depicted here. Or so I believe.
A classic snapshot of myself and some friends and brother Sean feasting on Chinese cuisine at the now Late-Great-Wall(now known as 'Tokyo's'...that's progress for you). Harkens back to October 1996, commemerating the 82nd birthday of my mentor & neighbor Bart E. Rees, poet extraordinaire.
I had the very good fortune and opportunity to not only experience Mardi Gras in New Orleans back in 1996, but to be a participant in the parades(and revelry)as well. I had to masquerade as a banjo player for a solid 8 days with my brother's string band(a musical entourage that specializes in festive music that hails from Philadelphia)and 'portray' a real honest to goodness banjo player in order to vacation there for next to nothing. It was worth every moment of it, I experienced the event in full force and was playing "air-banjo" like a pro by the end of the week. And yes N'awlins...Thanks for the mammaries.
From an excursion that took me overseas to Europe, the land of the Emerald Isle...Ireland of course back in February 2000. All I can state is that I can only attest to its verdant beauty and ancient enchantment. This pic features myself along with my family. I tried to get a leprachaun in the shot but he was a bit resistant to say the least.
Here are a few shots of a trek down to Myrtle Beach, SC in May 2001. One is of the famous(or infamous)"South of the Border" rest stop en route for happy travelers to stop in, buy a burrito, and lighten your load somewhat.
This is myself standing in front of a small part of a makeshift memorial for 9/11 inside NYC back in December 2001.
Taken from a March 2002 jaunt to 'The Great White North', Canada. This is me in front of the legendary Niagra Falls. I don't recommend going over in a barrel. It's bigger than it looks. I also managed to scout Toronto as well(impressive city)and sailed to the near top of the CN Tower. If you visit this landmark, you'll notice that a portion of the floors are made of transparent glass. Pretty damn intimidating from over 1500 ft. up!
This shot was taken at the Matamuska Glacier, during a trip to Alaska in October 2002. I manged to tour the whole of the state and must say that Alaska is perhaps the most scenically impressive place I have yet to visit. It abounds in natural ruggedness and endless expanses beckoning the adventurer within to rise up and take to the challenge of exploration. Fairbanks, Anchorage, Denali, and all points in between did I bravely traverse and conquer. If you go, try to visit The Chena Hotsprings approximately 55 miles east of Fairbanks. Just do NOT drive with accelerated passion on the ice ladden roads leading to and fro there! I found out the hard way.
Here I am on sabbatical down in the Florida Keys, this from January 2003. Stop in and visit 'Margaritaville' if you hit Key West.
Here are 2 photos from a trip south to North Carolina, March 2004. The first is from scenic downtown Charlotte. The second originates from Western NC, just outside of Cherokee Reservation nestled in the Smoky Mountains.
The following are some shots from a cross country trip I undertook in April 2004. This is a shot of myself, at Lake Michigan near Navy Pier in Chicago.
A very majestic mountain shot in central Colorado.
Here are a couple shots from Reno, Nevada - a truly great place for everything from casino indulgences to trekking out to some of the most expansive and well cultivated parks I've ever visited.
Lake Tahoe *IS* perhaps the most beautiful and sublime place I have ever visited. These pictures do it no justice. I was awestruck upon seeing the Sierras rise out amongst the surreal sealike lake underneath a sky of sapphire blue. A must see!
.These shots are from an excursion I made to Montreal, Quebec and also Vermont back in October 2004.
