Welcome to my Poetry Page. Yes, I write poetry. Some of it may even be pretty good or so I have been told. Anyway, I am not out to seek glory inasmuch to provide an outlet for my writings. Many of them are featured at "The Poetry Exchange", just click on the link on my main page to access the site. Please, do have mercy upon my poems. Aeons of Time

The Stars serenade etched amidst the promenade...
Nightwinds tarry into daylight's domain
The Trees whither and fade to cavort with the Rain
Children's frolic outside the door...
To disappear with Time's flux Forever More.
With each passing Day, I perceive the Past
Yet it takes Tomorrow for the memory to Last
With the diminishing Tides, I stand on sure grounds
A Threshold on transcendence..
A Thing to be Found
Of Life's Occasion,
A Milestone in passing
...Experienced as Divine.

The Bells Over Midnight

As I traveled upon the evening wake,
I did indeed hear the serenade
heralding my presence in this shadow domain
For 'twas the bells
melodious and forlorn
composing an elegy for me
the wandering minstrel
ne'er before did my ears
beheld such sublime exquisiteness;
as no man has ever heard the resonance
of this ambient symphony
richly orchestrated just once in a lifetime
deep into the nocturnal threshold
upon pillars of celestial grandeur
stark shooting stars blaze forth the occasion
whilst an aura of desolation pervades the periphery
as the winds bemoan an eerie testimony
to the passing of oneself
suffused in a twilight atmosphere
resplendent in lost legacy and abandon
Of dreams denied,
Of Cronos' measured time
lives conducted in agonizing futility
have left their mark on this precipice
I then venture forth further, beyond the limits set
And transcend the prior tragedy
Forsaking the consequence of hollow existence
All the while, the bells toll
singing their reprise
Beckoning the starlight voyager onward
To unfathomable things
Taking the distance into my grasp
Seizing the reigns and initiating the excursion
Inspiration's yoke set ablaze
To this soul quest, amidst eternity's cavalcade
In fleeting magnificence
Immortalized for an unprecedented milestone
My Lifetime.

Dangerous Arms

Betrayed by your hands,
left virtually for dead
once enamored with my presence
leaving me in a trench of despair
all from the burdens
of losing your care
no longer taken by the former rancor
memories of burning candles;
a hint of incense
the scent of perfume
rooms filled with satin
the blur of the evening
pale shades of moonlight
by all of these things
I was bewtiched by your charms
whilst being seduced
by your dangerous arms
vulnerable and naked
the state I was in
My dear such a cruel way with affections
my true heartbreak
contemplating the free fall after dusk
left with nothing but desperation
and a keepsake from the night before
all owing...
to your dangerous arms

The Chimes of Rhapsody

The nomadic wind passes through;
way past the Midnight threshold
as it graces you
orchestrating a symphony
under the starlight dominion
Trees sway in captivation
as the chimes serenade the lonely and forsaken
on this Night to remember.

For My Friend Departed
written

Three Years this day,
Your life as was known
was pilfered away
an unexpected occurrence
leaving behind a legacy
and volumes of anguish
sorrow unyielding
with crosses to bear
yet as infinite skies convey the solemn majesty
of the scope you perpetually inhabit
I find a solace withstanding
the loss and the forsaking
entrenched into my being
knowing full well
that eternity you shall dwell
in the hearts and the minds
of those you loved in your time
now possessed of immortality's breath
liberated from earthly bonds
to exalt your soul fortune
and to set your spirit free
whilst I reside in the recesses
of your prior existence
I remember you, William.
and I forever reflect upon the days we encompassed
as I bear a private testimony
a silent reckoning
for a friend whom was true and humane
undeviating and noble
an exemplarily person
taken with Winter's hierarchy
bestowing us all a vestige...
the glory of Springtime
rife with rebirth and resurrection
annihilator of despair and death's morbid grasp
on mortal affairs
a proliferation of hope and aspiration
to remind us all of Life's continuity
But, this evening is different.
I find myself on the precipice
for the Winter solstice still resides
and abides in my memory
as it shall for a duration
with this commemoration... I ignite the flame of remembrance
which instills within me a modicum of peace
so as to wish you tidings of tranquility
a solitary benediction
as I harbor your living
for the rest of my days
Rest in Peace Bubby.

*In memory of my deceased friend William Gorman

Tragedy's Garments

On this day like most others I gaze at her cloak;
She bears a stately presence in my affairs
this damsel known to myself as Tragedy
wearing her textured robes,
lugubrious and elegiac
beckoning me to take the mortal plunge
with her for just once tonight
A scarlet melodrama she has in store for me
with traces of indigo melancholy
to punctuate the precipice of myself
and to seduce me wholly
into the deepest dominion of her purple plush darkness
steeped in a twilight charisma
As I try to resist...
this temptress' kiss
if only for a moment can I regain,
some semblance of sanity and lucidity
Yet, she returns with a vengence
A conviction and intent
to remind me of the misfortune
where my living has been spent
long relentless dreary days
sowed with heartache and abandon
denied of the treasures
given at random
to the mere and the just
whilst I labored in vain
as others passed me by
with steals from their gains
So perhaps it is surrender
I should reconsider
to leave life behind
and follow the glitter
the stardust, the allure
Tragedy strews in my wake
God, please forgive
As this life I must take...
For her sheer satisfaction
All for her glory,
Thus this is such
With my somber story.

The Severed Bough

In my path and journeys;
lie the broken branches
of former glories
now in an encumbered state...
emasculated and weakened
unable to sustain the worldly weight,
they too now succumb to fate
as they lie here forsaken and destitute
a reminder of what transpires
when such is too much
an abdicated prerogative
in selecting a continuum
of perseverance and resiliency
in favor of
a solitary capitulation
a soul surrender
to demise's dimension and finality
resting now perpetually, liberated from hardships
insulated from further hurt and agony
as the winds scatter their testimonial
across my path.

The Stars Forever

What You took away when You left this Man...
Eternity could never replace.
For, You left a trace...
bestowed a remnant, cast in haste
The token of a beckoning
in which to be held in the throes of Nature's intent
"To the Stars" she said
"...the Stars Forever"
Left in abeyance, my Heart withered fast
emaciated with solemnity
Til' a glance Heavenward
revealed Celestial Testimony
...of my once Beloved.

October Sky

I contemplate the expanse of sky;
endless and never ending, it carries onward
to a mysterious destination
Someplace devoid of forethought;
permeated with solitary contemplation
A refuge for the wayfarer and restless soul
A solace for the fatigued
So, I followed the trail
A path to your remains
of which you left behind sometime ago.
The October sky beckons for you yet,
I know that you are not here with me.
Graven faces mar the periphery as I tarry
Ashen and loveless, they know the harrow of the Soul
so many stories left untold, so much left to say.
An errant wind issues forth the heralding
of Winter's imminent approach
with the last of Autumn's garments
to be snatched away
So, I turn away to cast a glance askance...
to harbor one last look
as a cascade of leaves serenades the day
thus bringing the conclusion
of this somber occasion
For a Time.
