Susie won a lotto for me and Jessa so we got to see the show! I started out in BB103 and switched with Sarah to BB5 for the second act. I must say BB103 is quite possibly the perfect place to sit in lotto (I was actually saying it comes close to front center mezz which for me is a BIG deal;) What happens is somehow all the music goes through the floor in that place - so you FEEL the band and every single note they play. There is nothing i love more than this. Aside from this, practically all the 'action' in the show happens right in front of you - which was fun. I like being close up (i *really* need new glasses so at least up front i can see everything clearly) but I'm almost afraid to move 'cause it's so close. But it's definitely fun:) I love feeling music more than anything so this was a perfect seat for me. It felt awesome. The audience was bubbly with excitement from the beginning - when Manley came out it started. Then Jim and the rest of the cast and it was pretty wild. Jim smiled and started his monologue. This audience was really well behaved though in the sense that everyone knew when to go wild and when to just watch the show and not interrupt what was going on - or so it seemed to me at least. Jim seemed to take all the energy in that theater and turn it into adrenalin which was huge fun to watch! At "the power blows" everyone went insane and it was a strong beginning to a strong show. Very full of energy from both cast and audience. The crowd was loud but didn't overdo it either. I ended up seeing the show from what was basically the best angle to watch each part at (due to a couple switcheroos here and there...) which was completely unplanned but turned out to be lots of fun. The first part was basicaly all the music of the show going right through my body and I sat right in front of a bunch of speakers all the way on the left so i got to hear the clearest sound ever - kind of like my own private headset;) Marcy was truly at her greatest...GLITTER!!!!!!!!!!!! she stepped out and every time she moved it would fall off her head - it was beautiful:) then she shook it out (to TONS of applause) and more would shake out every time she moved her head for the rest of the first act. Her voice sounded awesome and everything was just beautiful. She playfully lifted up her skirt to Jim in Happy New Year which was quite amusing. I'm guessing a lot of Marcy fans are Jim fans too 'cause he got lots of attention for stuff like the 'ballet jump' in Tango: Maureen or the 'jump-and-lie-down-on-the-table' in La Vie Boheme - cheering and all that. In La Vie Boheme Jacques went to take a chair off stage and ended up pulling it past the 'Jefferson mics' hitting them LOUDLY. This cracked everyone up for quite a while. do-it-all Jim got up to pick the two microphone stands up and fix them back in their place and was on the table in time for "...the holy days". The show was all about Marcy - lots of applause any time she did anything. Without You was as always amazing - i will really miss hearing her sing that. I know it's not a Marcy thing but What You Own really sounded excellent. The Tango was FILLED with funny things Jim did - he had us all rolling on the floor i think;) and he was ALL about making La Vie Boheme a most glorius occasion. Shelley and Byron got a ton of applause for their solos and i had a *fun* seat for that song...Jim finds the time to give everyone a smile:) Manley and Marcy were making super-wierd faces at the champagne tasting bad...the audience was silent for Without You...Jim sang the sweetest "there is no future..."
All in all a beautiful show. I'm glad I got to see Marcy once more and as always it amazes me how much i still love the show after seeing it more than a couple times.
