ahh...Cathy's birthday:) two days after i had just seen the show we watched the show from practically the same sro spots - it was a wierd feeling but fun at the same time. i don't get to do this often. Manley was excellent and was also great to see since i had been unimpressed by Tony's Roger two days earlier. My first time seeing Krysten was definitely fun:) i had heard many wonderful things about her too and she is indeed amazing. my one mistake (if you can call it that - more like fate if you ask me) was seeing Karen play Mimi two days earlier. like i've mentioned, Karen has a KICKASS VOICE which i loved. Krysten is an amazing actress and i would definitely put Mimi's acting before her voice in terms of my own priority. this is of course not to say that Karen isn't good at what she does but Krysten's Mimi is on it's own level. i absolutely love her acting. she makes many changes in the songs/lines too which was very interesting -- an r&b mimi with soul and rock and pop and energy and just about everything. amazing 'out tonight' as well as 'without you' - and other songs as well. very very good. every once in a while she could have stayed with one version of her Mimi for a couple seconds longer before switching to the next but she was really awesome. My first time ever seeing a non-Mark Gordon/Mr. Grey -- CHAD WAS EXCELLENT. very strong show all around. good to see a full cast. very good. in comparison with the almost half-empty theatre in the sunday matinee i had just seen, this time it was a packed house which was good to see. Chad was a hilarious Mr. Grey! good to see the full cast doing such an energetic show:) great all around!!
