Destruction of the Rainforests Threatens the Earth's Climate

Global Warming! Ozone Depletion! Acid Rain!

Who is responsible?
Developed Countries emitting carbon dioxide from industry and cars?
"The Third World" Countries slash and burn rainforests for farms and cattle ranching?

Global Warming: Remote Possibility or Immediate Threat?
The Grinnell Glacier is one of the 50 glaciers left in Glacier National Park, Montana. By current estimates, the 10,000 year-old glacier will be entirely melted within 30 years. Hurry if you hope to visit it!

Gather the facts!
"Carbon dioxide from the combustion of coal, oil, and natural gas has risen 15 percent in the atmosphere since 1958. Methane, some of which is emitted from cattle and rice paddies, h as increased 16 percent since 1978. The air now holds four times as much chlorofluorocarbons as it did 25 years ago. The amount of ozone in the stratosphere over the United States is 6 to 10 percent lower than it was in the 1960s."
