Economic Growth and Development
Our community is experiencing sudden and rapid development. Some of the businesses are good for our community but we notice there is much less open space.
Shore Memorial Hospital has purchased many nearby properties. Everyone wants good healthcare but the hospital seems to be getting so large.
The old Bar Harbor seems so small next
to the new marinas and condominiums.
We are concerned because so
many of our favorite places in the environment have disappeared. Many
historical buildings were torn down during the 1950s and 1960s. Our town
is now encouraging people to rennovate older buildings.
