Four years ago, Korn turned the metal world on its ear when it took the darker aspects of its freaky, tormented mind and channeled them into catchy, three-minute rap-metal outings. The songs were so good and the fans so fervent that Korn eventually reached the pop music mainstream, garnering multi-platinum status. On Follow The Leader, Korn follows its own lead stylistically rather than breaking any new ground, but still avoids getting left behind in a rush of new bands. The radio-only single of "All In The Family" uses a variety of remixes to showcase its undeniable viability for hip-hop, metal and top 40 audiences. The best thing to come out of this album, however, just may be the band's scheduled "Family Values" tour, combining artists from the hip-hop, industrial and rap-metal worlds on one bill.
