Freak on a Leash Video

The Freak on a Leash music video premiers in the U.S. on MTV Total Request Live between 3:30pm and 4:30pm on Friday, February 5th. KoRn spent a December afternoon in a Los Angeles soundstage shooting the video for "Freak On A Leash" which is a combination between real footage of the band and animation by Todd McFarlane. The three directors for the klip are Todd McFarlane, Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris. Here's an article from KoRn.com:

The "mini-movie" style video will be a combination of performance footage mixed with Todd McFarlane's animation and conceptual footage shot by Dayton & Faris of the band to create a seamless transition between the real world and the surreal one. The story begins and ends as a living, breathing extension of the Follow The Leader album cover, taking the viewer on a journey from a KORN/McFarlane conceived anti-establishment dreamland to a hard rock reality and back again.>

Jonathan says: "We got Todd McFarlane animating some of it. And Dayton and Ferris, the two who did the Pumpkins videos and a whole bunch of other videos - they're doing it. It's going to be bad-ass, it's going to trip some people out"

KoRn/Rob Zombie

Despite the rumors on why Zombie was not on the Family Values Tour, KoRn and Rob Zombie will be touring together from February 25, 1999 - April 11, 1999. "The wait is over, Zombie says. Zombie and KoRn will definitely be the most hard-core explosive tour of the year." Some tour dates up in the tour section.

Korn is working on a Family Values live CD which will be released sometime in 1999. There is also going to be a new home video which will follow along the lines of "Who then Now?" footage. When asked about it Jonathan said "Yeah, it's gonna be kinda like that. But it's a whole tour. We're using the MTV special footage of the band but all the shit in-between of the band, that's all gonna be like "Who Then Now?" The video is also set to be released sometime in 1999.

KoRn Konsidering Lawsuit

A student was suspended Thursday, March 5, '98 at Zeeland High School in Zeeland, Michigan for wearing a KoRn shirt to school. KoRn is considering to file a multi-million dollar lawsuit against the school district, the school and it's assistant principal. The assistant principal suspended the student for wearing the shirt (which only had the word 'Korn' on it) because she felt it was offensive. If KoRn does go forward with the lawsuit and wins, the proceeds will go to the ACLU and various charities for the prevention of child abuse. Klick here to read the whole story.

KornTV

KornTV debuted on March 5, 1998 and every Thursday they aired another show on the internet. They had 7 shows altogether but they aren't doing them anymore as of right now. You can check out the re-runs on the KornTV site and in my Multimedia section. They might air new shows in the future so stay tuned...

Family Values Tour

The Family Values Tour has been postponed to August or September so it won't compete with OzzFest. So far KoRn, Limp Bizkit and Orgy are the only confirmed bands. Rage Against The Machine and the Deftones decided not to be on the tour. As far as I know, it is planned to start in the U.S.A. and then go to Europe.

New Movie Soundtrack

I got some news that KoRn and the Dust Brothers will be teaming up again on a new MTV movie soundtrack called "Dead Man On Campus". The entire movie and soundtrack is being produced by the Dust Brothers. No dates as to when it will be released but some of the other bands that will be on the soundtrack are Green Day, Marilyn Manson, Blur, and the Chemical Brothers.

KoRn/Dust Brothers

KoRn will be on the Dust Brothers' new album. I don't know what exactly they will be doing though.

New Home Video

KoRn will be releasing another home video sometime in 1998. Don't know what it's gonna be called yet but a good guess would be Who Then Now? 2.

KoRn has named their new record label "Elementree" and has signed thier first band, Orgy. They expect to sign 2 music artists to the label each year.
