The room is rather dimly lit, so you hold your candle up just a bit higher ... to reflect off the contents of the room.
Shoved against the wall to one side is a long ago deserted, spider-web encased games table.
Chess pieces lay grotesquely scattered, as spiders scurry about.
You shiver with revolt, but that hollow clinking sound is coming from past the table.
Well ... don't that beat it all.
You expell a sigh of relief,
blush with embarrassment
and giggle nervously.
