The Ross Report

Stone Cold Steve Austin came close to breaking his leg this past week. X-rays were taken and, luckily, the Rattlesnake’s leg was not broken but was severely twisted and sprained. Doctors at the Ohio State University Medical Center, after getting several autographs, suggested Stone Cold take a few days off to allow his leg to heal. The WWF Champion is expected back in action next Friday, August 6, in the MCI Center in Washington, D.C. Mankind replaced Austin on Thursday night in Baltimore and will do the same Saturday at the Continental Airlines Arena.

The producers of CBS’ "Nash Bridges" want Austin for several episodes next season. However, nothing has been officially decided on the matter.

The Rock throws out the first pitch in Pittsburgh this Sunday afternoon at the Pirates game.

Brian Christopher’s knee is doing very well thanks to the rehab process. No return date, however, has been established for Brian’s return to the ring.

The Big Show is being encouraged to work harder on his conditioning so that he will be better prepared to become the player the WWF needs him to be when the time comes.

Steve McMichael is not on his way to the WWF!

The WWF has had talks with Bubba and Devon Dudley but nothing has been signed….yet!

Billy Gunn has not signed a contract extension, as his new contract signed a few months ago has several years remaining. The WWF is counting on Mr. Ass to move to the next level in the near future. That will be Mr. Ass’ decision.

The WWF has not made an offer to Glacier and is not expected to do so.

Vince McMahon is not scheduled to return to WWF TV, including SmackDown.

The Headshrinkers and Yokozuna are not scheduled to return to the WWF any time soon. However, Fatu will probably be back on WWF television in the future.

Chris Jericho’s contract with the WWF went into effect this week. Hopefully, Jericho will debut soon, but a date has not been determined.

NO WWF performer has a clause in their contract that guarantees titles OR creative control, contrary to what has been reported on the internet.

Many within the WWF would like to see Chris Jericho make an appearance in Winnipeg on Saturday, August 21 at the live WWF event. JR will meet with Jericho on Thursday, August 6 in Stamford.

The WWF has had talks with Stevie Richards, who has been cleared medically to return to the ring.

The WWF will probably develop another farm system in Puerto Rico later this year. This establishes three different ‘territories’ the WWF can cooperate with in hopes of developing more young stars for the future.

Another very interesting talent met with WWF officials Friday in Stamford. Stay tuned….
