Caramon, Sturm, and Steel represent the DragonLance Tauruses. Caramon is the lover of all earthly things, from food (which he feels the need to sample), to alchol (which nearly causes his downfall), to sex (for which he is known by countless barmaids). His determination is impressive, particularly when you consider that it was Raistlin who he had to deal with for that whole long time. (Poor guy) His love of family is remarkable and he is willing to brave all sorts of things for his brother, Raistlin, and for his children, Tanin, Sturm, Palin, Dezra, and Laura.
Sturm's determination is amazing. Who else could stoically battle never being accepted by the other knights, distrust of the general populace, and still cheerfully recite "my honor is my life" and actually mean it? Although not known to be a lover of earthly delights, he does drink and he is one of Kitiara's lovers (although how drunk he was at the time remains to be seen). His love of tradition fits the conservative earth signs and his dedication to his land also marks his element.
Steel see Sturm, add evil. Or, for a better explaination, most of Steel's actions resemble Sturm's in all ways, therefore, his sign just ought to be the same.
Palin and Dalamar are our representative Virgos. Palin is obviously a very smart young man, being a magician and having passed his test at an early age, which obviously corresponds with "keen analytical mind". However, we also do get the distinct feeling that his underwear may very well be arranged light to dark in the true nature of Virgos. Interested in health to the last, Palin is anxious to point out how terribly he has been tortured by the Gray Robes (In Fallen Sun), while showing off his mangled hands. A lover of tradition, Palin is a good white robe until the end of the conclave, after which time he uses his mutable nature to create the Academy, another residence of magic.
We do assume that Dalamar, having managed to survive Raistlin to become the head of the conclave, is at least a fairly intelligent young man, uh..."elf", who seems to have a relatively analytical mind. A slave to tradition, he helps the conclave to spy on the renegade magician, Raistlin. (Dalamar, you naughty boy, you.) His concern for his health is brought up regularly by his ripping off his robes to demonstrate the eternally gaping wounds on his chest. Eeewwww... And, his love for the physical things in life is marked by his affairs with Kitiara and Jenna, his collection of furniture and china, his ability to be the one magician who eats real food (check it out, they only drink tea and wine and eat sweets), and...*drumroll* undead servants.
Jenna and Flint are our two Capricorns. Jenna is the most sucessful business woman of the DragonLance world, being one of the wealthiest women in Ansalon by the time that she is in her sixties through selling magical artifacts. Besides this, she is also ambitious (she manages to beceome the Head of the Red Robes and has more than a passing interest in powerful consort Dalamar), intelligent (her intelligence score, believe it or not, beats out Raistlins *sniff*), and loves work, actually sleeping above her store so that she can be there day and night. (And yes, some of us do find that a little weird.) Jenna is certainly determined, being one of the few people who can not only stand Dalamar for long periods of time, but also seems to like him, but also being the sort of person who can survive almost anything, from the Knights of Neraka, to the end of magic, and turn it all to her personal advantage. She is an at times depressed character, who seems to hide her true feelings from those around her. However, her mean sarcastic quips (normally aimed at lawful good characters, Dalamar, or Palin) seem to relieve some of her stress, although they often create arguments. And, in true earth style, Jenna not only gains wealth, but enjoys it immensly. She dresses always only in silks and velvets, with high quality perfumes, lives in a good part of Palanthus, and *greatly* enjoys the company of many different powerful men. Jenna is a Capricorn.
Flint is yet another business loving character of DragonLance. We first meet him selling his finely made steel pieces to awed buyers all over the continent. Flint also enjoys all of the earthly pleasures, loving good ale, food, and dressing well while in town. He takes a grandfatherly interest in the companions (Capricorns, particularly elderly ones, are often known for being patriarchal), and despite his at times depressed nature and sarcastic comments, is basically a nice guy.
