Henrick (Henry) was born in Germany in 1850. After his arrival to Dubuque he became a foster child of Anton and Josephine Manahl. At about the age of 17 years he joined the gold rush to California. Just where in California he went is not know. He did not marry in so far as is known. He apparently died at an early age, sometime around 1895. He is therefore buried somewhere in California.
