I am writing to you in response to a letter that you sent to the Director of the Buffalo Jills Cheerleaders. Let me start by introducing myself. My name is Diana, and this will be my second season with the Buffalo Jills Organization. I have just recently graduated with a Master's Degree in Counselor Education. Currently I am Resident Director for one of the Resident Halls at the local college. According to the Director, it is my understanding that you are interested in knowing what we are passionate about. Below is a top ten list:
9. Traveling! Every place is unique and has it's own culture. There's something to see and learn no matter where you may be!
8. The summer! (Yes, I live in Buffalo - I think that's why I appreciate it so much) I love to be outside in the warm weather.
7. Water. I will always live near water. Growing up on the Niagara River has spoiled me. Swimming, boating, tubing, jet-skiing, or just going to the beach... the possibilities are endless.
6. Why cheerleading, of course!!
5. Helping others! That is one of the reasons why being a Jill is so important to me. We are constantly involved in charity work and fundraisers! Also, my passion for helping others, especially today's youth was the driving force behind my decision to major in counseling.
4. Learning and education. Though I may no longer be partaking in formal education, I am not the type of person who will stop learning. There are many things we are able to teach ourselves.
3. My job. I have recently been hired as a Resident Director at a State College. I have a wonderful staff that I would not trade for the world.
2. Spending time with my girlfriends! How else can a girl stay sane?
1. Spending time with my family (and my cat, Ebony, whom I consider part of my family). They have always been supportive and given me so much throughout the years. If it were not for them, I would not be the person I am today.
