This is one of those saccharine books that tries to make you believe both that Celtic Paganism was all fun and games, that faries really do exsist, and that Arthurian legend really has much to do with either. It's kind of cute, though. Niviane, in this book, is a kind of nice sort of fairy who grows up, falls in love with Arthur (this happens quite often, strangely), has a child by him, and follows Merlin around rather platonically as an assistant while outside of court.
