Niniane in the Child of Northern
Spring, the Queen of the Summer Stars, and the Legend in Autumn by Persia
Woolley
This is one of those books that aside from making all of the flaws that
I think modern books make (ie, believing that everyone's a druid, tossing
about eight or nine sources and mangling them badly, using Arthurian legend
as a way to make a cheap romance seem more classy, etc.) manages to work
it all out well. Nimue (Niniane) has a fairly large part in the second
two books, and they're all well written. The stories stick close
enough to the earlier plots that I don't find myself going "Hey, wait a
second, Guenievere and Gawaine weren't intersted in each other...", but,
then again, it doesn't really create anything new. It's the sort of thing
that isn't vital, but's good for a fun read, particularly if you can find
it at a used book store for two dollars.
