If all you know about Orgy consists of their techno-industrial remake of New Order's "Blue Monday", you don't know a thing about this band. Playing before a packed house, Orgy sounded all heavy handed industrial/rock and absolutely no techno. Dressed like The Cure clones (goth-wear and lots of make-up), Jay Gordon and Ryan Shuck took center stage as the bands showmen, posing at will for a decidedly female audience.

Overall, Orgy's Kornesque style of hard, grungy guitars and barely there electronics was generally well done, except for the lack of definition. At times, each song became a mirror of the previous selection. Still though, the band managed to whip up their fans into quite a frenzy, performing the aforementioned MTV hit "Blue Monday" and other selected tracks from their debut album "Candyass".

However, Orgy can't seem to pull off the almost futuristic appeal of their album in a live performance. Lost is the diversity and the strange pop like feel that the album holds. On stage, all of that is gone, replaced by heavy, deep guitar crunch and nothing else. Considering they are on the label owned by Korn (Elementree), it's probably not meant to be any other way.
