I really enjoyed my chat with Tiffany Arbuckle (lead vocalist) about their song "Pennyless" (which by the way talks about a girl who tried to commit suicide a number of times 'cause she hated her life) and I gave her a brief sum-up of my aunt (who has 6 kids and has been living with me for the past 6 months. She just moved out last week) Anyhoo... I told her about all the problems she's been having with trying to commit suicide a number of times and a bunch of other stuff. Tiffany gave me a hug and told me 'bout how when she was 16, she was diagnosed with cancer and she thought for sure she was going to die but though her hope (found in Jesus of course :-) She was able to put her trust in God and come to find out, someone gave her the wrong diagnosis or something and she DIDNT have cancer. She even gave me a little metaphor straight out of "The Land Before Time" If you've ever seen that movie... Its about some adorable little dinosaurs that lost everything and are trying to get to "Paradise" (a place where no one could ever hurt them) I know it probably sounds kinda childish but it kinda helped me to understand how if you put your hope in Jesus, things will always work out. And in her own words, "God has a blue print made out of your life and he wants to help you... he's just waiting for you to ask him. No matter what your going through, no matter what your searching for, that mountain top is just around the corner and God is waiting for you to put your hope and trust in him and he'll be there." She gave me another hug and asked my name and asked if I planned on going to Creation Fest next year and I said yeah. She said for me to meet up with her sometime during that week and she wants to hear how God has worked in my life. I think thats pretty awesome! She totally encouraged me and I came to the assumption that that concert was worth standing outside for over an hour in line and even being so sqaushed in the crowd during the concert.
